Mine showed up out west today, unfortunately I won’t be able to use it for another month until I’m home, maybe I can convince my wife to take it for a test run

Hahahaha, good luck . My wife thinks I'm crazy and won't have anything to do with anything other than a disposable cartridge razor. I've tried!

Just switched my Taiga over to the SB plate and loaded a Feather and opened it all the way up. Damn that thing is smooth and I was being careful but still felt as though I didn’t really HAVE to be as careful as I was. Super close shave and I am now addicted to my 2 favorite modern Adjustables. This and the new Sailor are just so hard to beat! I am SERIOUSLY considering selling off some seldom used razors. Especially ones that are still available. Had an awesome 2.5 pass BBS and it was almost effortless. I used a light touch just like I did with my last Sailor shave and the Taiga was amazing! I actually think I like the SB plate more than the OC but I still think it’s soooooo damn cool to have an adjustable OC and the OC plate makes the razor look so unique! Anyway, back to the OC plate next time I use it to compare the shaves again. Love this razor!!

Going on 15 hours since my shave last night around 8pm and just starting to feel a hint of stubble. I looked at the dial on the razor again and mine goes up to 8 from the number 1. The numbers stop at 6 but mine keeps going for 2 full numbers forward which would be considered #8. It was still smooth with the SB plate and a Feather on this setting. Wonder what the gap is on this setting?

Whelp, I'll likely be ordering the Taiga after all when they are back in stock... I intended to hang out, read reviews and wait until HLS got some sort of distribution deal with a North American vendor, but based on an email exchange with them, that doesn't seem to be something that's in the works. Guess I'll have an adjustable show-down between Taiga and Ambassador. The loser gets sent packing, hahahaha.

[Image: 7EgLkbI.jpg]So this was my 2nd shave with the Taiga pass around razor and I waited 3 full days to shave with the razor on what would be setting # 8 which  is not marked but it’s 2 more notches up. I did a two pass. WTG and ATG pass using a once  used Feather blade.  The razor still felt smooth while it was taking down my growth in a very effective manner.  I wanted the razor to do most of the work so I guided it and wasn’t real aggressive with my skin stretching which probably would have yielded an even closer, longer lasting BBS than I ended up with.  Which was what I refer to as a level 2 that lasted 12 hrs before I notice any hairs beginning to break surface so that I could feel them. I did come to one conclusion that I was on the fence about after the first shave with the Taiga and that is if I were to order on I’d probably get the optional Titanium handle as I’d like to feel what the razor would be like little with a lighter feeling in the handle and would it make it more head heavy like the Gibbs.  I’m going to wait 2 more days and then do a side by using the Taiga vs my Gibbs. I’ve had a whole lot of shaves with the Gibbs and I know it well and I can say from a pure maneuverability evaluation I’d give that to the Gibbs and I do wish the handle on the Taiga was an 85 mil handle instead of a 90 but our friend Claudio in S. Africa has already started thinking about making and shorter handle option for the Taiga. So still very much enjoying the razor and the idea that I could have a Gibbs level type of shave without having to modify a blade and send the time making sure that it’s perfectly centered.  Also the fact of it being maybe even more efficient than the vintage Gibbs with the extra turns or what I call the bonus settings.

This is my 3 shave using a CBL shave soap and this was the SIR  Irish with the Tonsorial base which I did notice a slight difference between it and the premium base I shaved with on my last shave but the soap still performed great and had a nice light clean sort of barbershop scent and so far this brand is a brand I’ll keep my eyes on when they have new releases.

Overall a very good shave experience using the Taiga and other gear.

Думаю, у меня будет регулируемое противостояние между тайгой и послом. Проигравшего отправляют паковать вещи, ха-ха-ха.

Unfortunately, it is not planned to sell Taiga through distributors yet
