This has been a very interesting pass around because there are several folks that did not like this razor and several that loved it. Some say the efficiency is nowhere near any other razor with that gap and others that say the efficiency is right up there with the best of them.

I don't need another DE but I did enjoy the 1.30 closed comb enough to really feel like it will be another razor that can work for me. I was lucky enough to try a lot of new DE razors this year and while many of them have been really nice, only a few have really struck my fancy. I think the price on this one for some people is higher than what they would like but I find the price affordable enough for me to want to get one sometime in the near future.

I got home late tonight, so not sure if I'll get a shave in tomorrow morning or evening, but will post results sometime in the next few days. I plan on keeping the razor for the full 10 days, if no one has an issue with that. I'd like to try multiple plates.

jbreakfield I hope you find something in those base plates that works well for you . I was happy I had a good blade pairing while using a Personna Red during the pass around which I would consider to be a pretty sharp blade on my skin. Looking forward to more thoughts after some shaves. After looking yesterday online, direct stock of a model 1.30 model Kolibri in closed comb was sold out. I may want to purchase one next year if the are easily available.

Thanks! I hope so, too... I'm going for the 1.30 solid bar first (tonight), I'm hoping that's the sweet spot for me. I was planning on trying a PermaSharp blade for the first shave.
