I use everything - Wolfman, blackbird, Charcoal goods, Filarmonica, Wacker.
and then - Cracked handle tech, Red tip with missing end caps, Super speed with TTO issues, Merkur, Dorco pl, no name straight razor - you get the point. I am just not into taking pictures and sharing them daily.

When I actually had a larger stash of razors, I would said I was definitely like you @"nikos.a" . Now that I have only a few, I can't say with certainty, but I do use my ~$400USD set-up (polished Blackland Vector + ti handle by Stork) as well as my (very cheap in comparison) 1950's era Schick injector. I have lost interest in DE razors, so it's hard for me to say if my thirst for the "high-end" remains. I have no interest in pursuing vintage any further, and "high-end" SE safety razors just don't get released very often.

We're probably more than I initially thought...
Discussion boards and SOTDs do not always reflect reality.

Nikos, I will use any razor or brush, regardless of the price. However, the only reason I use the items in my SOTD photos is that they work for me, extremely well and better than other items I have tried and sold. I could care less how much something costs, as long as it works for me, then I'll use it. Many of my expensive brushes and razors have been bought on the BST, which helps reduce costs, a bit. Furthermore, this may sound trivial, but if I were not to take SOTD photos, then I would not have half of the brushes and razors that I have. For me, SOTD photos are ways to express art and I enjoy the variation with the items in them.   Shy

I totally get this, Celestino.

It is also widely known that you post the most artistic outdoor photos, my friend! Keep up the excellent work!

I use my vintage shick injectors as well as my one blade and Asylum RX and use it mostly for the results rather than for feeling good about their costs.

On the DE side, I haven't acquired any high end razors, YET, and everything has been on the somewhat affordable realm, call it a RR GC .84 and Merkur Futur.

In the end, to me at least, it all boils down to the experience, and all can be achieved with either high end or budget items, it depends on what you are looking for.

Based on what you've stated here, I'd say I have only one expensive razor, the Rex Ambassador, and I really like it. The rest of my razors range from mid priced to downright inexpensive. Within that mix are modern and vintage razors, adjustables, injector, Artist Club SE, regular SE, and simple DEs. It''s not just the cost but the variety and the shave I get from them. However, I do have to admit that unless a razor piqued my curiosity a large price would probably be a deterrent for me.

I have three DE razors:

34C - $49.00
Vikings Blade Godfather Stonehenge - $45.00
Timeless Stainless Steel - $280.00

I use and enjoy all three.
