As far as SMN, check this out in regards to scent. Most find it to be strongest, in descending order, Tobacco (there you go, and yes tobacco, not the flower like RR/TFS Tobacco Verde), Vanilla, Amber, Birch Leaf, Malt, Bergamot and Jasmine.
The reason I brought up I Coloniali is that it has a pleasant, distinct, somewhat mysterious scent. SMN TT reminds me of that. It is masculine without having a bunch of heavy notes, is pleasant in scent strength, and again, refreshing. Shouldn't bother most people. By the way, I Coloniali is not being produced but yes it is nice stuff, smells unique and if you have a chance to get some on the bst, give it a serious thought. DON'T pay up the nose though.

Honestly, if you're gonna drop $200 on SMN, get Manna Di Sicila, Stella Alpina and/or Dolomiti from Saponificio Varesino. Stuff is relatively affordable, as well as being a milled soap, and as you said you're looking for a quality soap (or cream) with slickness and cushion. You could get one of the SV soaps and your SMN and it wouldn't be much more. I will say, I hype the SV stuff a lot (a shill would have their product as their avatar) so feel free to take it with a grain of salt. I have read a small handful of reviews it doesn't work for but many really enjoy the quality of performance.

ADP Cream + ADP Aftershave balm - $110
SMN Cream + Tobacco Toscana Cologne - $206
Im ok with either price. But want quality and value for money. Im leaning towards the SMN products.
What is your weather going to be like for the next 6 months? Hot? If so, go SMN! That stuff smells great, is cool, refreshing, a little bit intoxicating kind of like I Coloniali.

Well don't bother with Tabula Rasa. I just don't think it is high value and many have reported issues with quality control over the years. But in terms of ADP, are you getting the unscented cream or do they still have the Collenzione Barba shave cream? Is that what product/scent you are looking at? Toffeeman

No, the ADP and cream are the matching latest formula - very weak soapy scent apparently. I could spend money on any nice scented cologne if I go that route.

I tried it back when it was the Colonia soft soap croap but wasn't in love with the performance. Definitely good but wasn't good value. I will continue to try new soaps even if they are pricey. But I know what works best for my skin and luckily, none are really expensive. How long have you been shaving and does your skin have any standout performers?

Well Ive been shaving since I was 14, that's 34 years. However I discovered great creams and soaps and DE razors about 8 years ago. My favorite soaps, when I used them were MdC and LPL - but even those great performers dried my skin somewhat. So I went back to creams about a year ago - and DRH (Windsor), T&H (Grafton) and Trumper's (Rose) are my three favorites.
