I currently use the AL-13 Mild as a daily driver. Thinking about getting the Ti Mild as well. Looking for any advice from those who have used both if this is a good idea.
Thanks

I had a Henson AL medium as well as a TI medium. I regretted selling my aluminum and switching to the titanium. There was something about the titanium that just didn't feel as good. Maybe it's because aluminum is a softer material? Maybe because aluminum is lighter (I am a big fan of light razors)?

Whatever it was, that was pretty much the beginning of the end of my Henson shaving. Shortly after I went to the Overlander and never looked back.

Not sure any of this helps, other than to say, if you're like me and prefer a aluminum razor, the titanium won't feel the same.

(Okay, I briefly looked back when I borrowed Eric's mild aluminum V2... But I didn't feel the need to reinvest in a Henson).

That is interesting. I tried the Overlander aluminum and sold it. It never shaved as well as the Henson for me.

ooh don't get me wrong... I definitely got a closer shave easier from the Henson, but I could still get the BBS shave with the Overlander and it was smoother. This remained the same with the Mild v2 I tried... More efficient, less smooth.

I have sensitive skin, thick wirey red hair, and a penchant for BBS Everytime. So, slow and smooth is my only real way if I'm going after it every day.

Also, Don't misconstrue my switching for a dislike... Had I not found the Overlander I'd most certainly still be shaving with a Henson. I'd say it's number two in my book, even after trying the other razors by Karve.

I have several AL13 razors in mild, medium and aggressive.  I prefer the +++ aggressive version.  I purchased the Ti22 +++, which is heavier, and shaves nearly the same as the equivalent AL13+++.  The bottom line:  The comparison between the aluminum and titanium models of the Henson, finally allowed me to determine that I prefer super light razors...
which for me means that I prefer the AL13 over the Ti22.
The same thing happened with the Razorock Lupo Aluminum versus the Stainless version.  The stainless Lupo has better design architecture (scalloped corners, smaller head, better handle, etc.), which makes the stainless version nearly perfect...But...I still prefer the lighter version of the Lupo!  Went through the same thing with vintage razors as well.
I understand the weight difference is small, but if you like super light razors it can mean a huge difference in performance...if your technique is improved by the incrementally lighter weight.  The determining factor is the degree of lightness you personally prefer..."light weight" or "super light weight".  Only you can determine what gives you the comfort and results you desire, through trying and testing different weights of the same razor configuration.  It has taken me years (with 60+ razors) to finally determine what I really do and do not like.
I look forward to hearing about your results and where you end up.

Right now the Al-13 + is giving me excellent daily shaves. I would still like to try the Ti version but so far have not been compelled to order one. I am keeping my eyes open on BST and sales.

I've had several Hensons in both materials and all aggression levels. I currently have the Al13 mild head with the stainless handle available from their Amazon store. I think I really like the added heft of the SS. I didn't NOT like the full Al13, but just found the mass and balance better.

Mild Ai13 head, stainless handle, and a Kai blade is just about as perfect a shaving machine for my face as there is... Smile

I may get the mild Ti still in the future.
