I'm not crazy about Vetiver scents but the one that I would buy again and regret selling is Pure2O Vetiver.

Received the Shannon's Haymarket Vetiver and have had one shave, so bear that in mind for my subjective review.

I bloomed it, but I won't in the future as it doesn't really need it. I merely gave my YaQi 24mm Cashmere a few swirls in the tub (after wetting it under running hot water) and the lather exploded when it hit my face and it was then that I knew from the feel & look that this was something special. It really likes water and water I gave it. Wink

The scent is to my nose a damn near spot on clone of the classic Spanish Puig cologne/AS called Agua Brava:

Back to the shave. I used a Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum (black India) and this was the 3rd shave on the blade and in a "ball end" English Tech razor. Well, I feel like a complete & utter fool for not buying this soap years ago when it first crossed my radar. Blush Absolutely flawless performance!! Cushion & glide in spades. You name it, it had it. I could go over shaved areas w/o relathering with aplomb. This just shot to the top of my "sleeper" list and I haven't even tried their improved goat milk formula which I also purchased named Silk Pajamas!! Confused How much better could it get??!! As for post shave face "feel" I rate it as above average for a tallow soap. Mind you, that is the least important factor for me as I wash with a cleanser and use AS after shaving.

In conclusion, I am absolutely & thoroughly impressed with this soap's actual shave performance as that's where the "rubber" meets the road. At $11.95 for 4 oz. I almost feel like I got away with larceny here! Big Grin Wink

Thanks for the review. Which after shave did you go with? I went ahead and ordered GD postshave serum in vetiver scent to go with this soap. Maggard Razors shipped the soap on Thursday but USPS is still showing awaiting for package so hopefully I'll get the soap and the GD serum next week.

You're welcome, sir. I also received a sample of Fine Green Vetiver in the shipment so I used it. Smells a lot like Guerlain Vetiver. Wink

Excellent. Much appreciate the review. I am hitting her site tonight now! Sounds top shelf. I have heard she makes great stuff - don't want to miss out anymore either!

Unfortunately neither of my favorites are made any longer
Desmonds Barrow - Joie de Vetiver
CRSW - Vétiver Moderne

Shaved with Shannon's Haymarket Vetiver this evening and liked the scent. I have not tried many others so I can't comment if it's the best or not but I like it. I paired it with B&M Seville aftershave which I think the two go well together.

I am sure digging the Black Velvet and its slated for tomorrow's shave. But I also found in the garage fridge a tub of Esbjerg Orange Vetiver I forgot I had. It's a pretty dirty vetiver with an orange top note. Good stuff.

Now that's an unusual combo!!! Curious for a more detailed scent description, please.
