I’m wanting to keep it to $125 or less. Timing is flexible. I’m ready to purchase but not in any hurry. Thanks.

I'd go Yates or Envoy right now, personally. Again, no wrong choice here.

If you decide to wait for a few weeks, I think we'll have something up your alley and you can throw in a couple flare tips for good measure with that budget.

Only my opinion!
The Dart is an excellent razor, but it’s a big jump in blade gap. I like mine, but only with a few days of growth.
Sold my Timeless bronze. Although I tried, I couldn’t find anything that I liked about it.
Don’t have any experience with a Yates. It’s certainly a FUGLY creation.

Suggestion: Karve Christopher Bradley in brass.

Let me ask you (and hope it isn't already answered above)... Are you CONUS? Availability and price changes based on location.

+1 to the Karve CB. There is a handy chart on the site to help pick the baseplate best for you. The B & C plates are a great place to start.

Dangit Blackland Razors ... Shane, I thought I was done with buying razors for a little while... but if this is what I think it is, I will HAVE to try it out.

OP, I agree, if you want something right now, my recommendation is the Yates M.

If you are interested in BBS' suggestion, and would like to try the adjustable, shoot me your address and I'll send you a Gillette Slim.

I could never really get along with it, so it sits in a box in the closet. All the numbers are painted, finish is nice and intact, and the quarter turn lock works flawlessly. The doors are a bit floppy in my estimation, but still do the job. I can try to get it out this week.

I've done PIFs everywhere but here, I believe. It's past time for a DFS one. [Image: a7851b521208f8bec2ba368048ea22d0.jpg]

I'd also add if the O.P. takes you up on the offer and decides he doesn't like the razor they make for good beginner razors to gift along to a son or other family member looking to get away from using carts. it also helps to tell them that James Bond shaved with a Gillette Slim in Goldfinger.

+1 to that!

However, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that this slim does not shoot poison darts. It also won't give you a Scottish accent, and still you still won't have a secretary named Moneypenny.

Ok, I will try to respond to the suggestions and comments I seen so far. First, a big thanks to all. I really appreciate the thoughts and comments.

I would like to stay with U.S. made, so that is why Karve wasn't on my list.

I am not in any hurry so will have no problem waiting to see what Blackland comes up with

If I go with the Yates, I will be waiting for their stock levels to be replenished. I would want the shorter, thicker handle, and it is not offered as a complete razor that way, and they don't have the individual components available to build a razor with all the same finishes

The idea of an adjustable Gillette is interesting

What does this sentence mean? "I've done PIFs everywhere but here, I believe. It's past time for a DFS one." What is a PIF?

The statement, "I'd go Yates or Envoy right now, personally. Again, no wrong choice here." shows a great deal of integrity, considering it came for the maker of one of the razors I'm considering, who doesn't make either of the razors he is recommending.

again, thanks
