So I don't see a ton of threads about this but trust ya'lls experience and opinions. I am currently waiting on a custom handle from Viking Soap and was planning on a getting a 24mm B10 knot for it. However, that knot is now sold out on Declarations site. I have an email to Scott to see if B10 is coming back but just sent that today so we'll see. I bowl lather but some of that is predicated in that my current Simpson 58 in Best is super scritchy and gives me brush burn when attempting to face lather so I have to use a bowl. So I could use a softer knot for sure but it's harder to find a 24mm knot compared to larger sizes. So any recommendations from yall about what I should get if B10 is out? B9A, Maggards SHD/Odin's Beard...anything else? How does one get a Rhodium knot or get a ZT3? Thanks for your help.

DG stated in a video that supply on B10 was low to begin with -- he paid much more for the batch while receiving less supply than usual.

I have a Simpson Chubby 2 in Best and I can say definitively that B9A is major difference (I have it in 24mm) -- such a well-rounded knot in terms of softness, scritch, back bone, and lather release. Cannot compare to B10 yet (a 26mm incoming).

The other knotting services has long waitlists that are closed.

Strike Gold Shave recently started offering hand-tied knots (24mm available) but haven't seen any reviews of them.

Never tried a B10 or Mozingo HT, but own a wide variety of knots from B3 through B9a, Oumo, and Orin’s Beard. Just received an installed a knot from the new V4 Odin’s Beard batch. I am mightily impressed - exceptionally dense, springy, with luxuriously soft with gel characteristics tips. And it measures well against my best brushes at a fraction of cost.

Fantastic knots! I have the Silvertip 2-band which is just great - softer than Chubby Best but not too soft.

Unless you are shaving in an unheated log cabin in the dead of Winter above 10,000 ft. where every little bit of heat is essential then I would get a synthetic Tuxedo style knot. They just simply do everything better without any of the inherent problems that come with natural hair brushes. Better yet, you can use the huge amount of $$ saved to buy stuff that really matters, i.e., good blades & soaps.  Wink

B10 just came out. If that’s what you want, just wait. Scott probably sets a quantity for each knot size and it says “sold out” when that quantity is reached. I imagine he’ll reset it soon. This is just a guess, but I remember this happening with older batches.
