This is funny, I just joined the forum to reply to your chubby 2 synthetic bst post. I am new to this forum but quite active on reddit (rChewbacca). I also happen to live in the DFW area as well. I'm in the uptown area of downtown Dallas. I'm starting to think there are a ton of wet shavers in the area. I just met with Larry of Whipped Dog, he lives in Arlington and just did a fantastic job refurbishing a straight for me. I have also made sales/trades with two other people who live in the area, one of them has become a friend that I meet for drinks with sometimes.

Anyway. I cant reply to your post or IM you until I have at least 10 posts. I have some WK, B&M, and CL(L&L) soaps/AS you may be interested in as a full or partial trade. Hopefully I get my 10 posts in before you sell it off.

Do you hone your own straights? I got an 8k stone and a full set of lapping film with large plexiglass backings but I have been hesitant to try. All of my razors are previously honed by Portland Razor Co or RocTrader so they would only be needing refresh. How did you learn? Did someone teach you or did you just learn by doing?

I have zero experience with straight razors. I'm experienced with DE/SE. I have a Feather Artist SS single edge razor. It's the closest I have to a straight.

I just started using a GEM Jr single edge. That is a fun razor to use. It feel like I’m in an old west movie or something.
