Hi.  New to this Forum.  Glad to be here.  I'm a head and face shaver of many years and recently have run into a problem.  Maybe you can help.  I've used a LEAF Razor (2 blade) and a few different "good" blades, only used 2-3 times each.  I've also used an Electric Remington Balder Boss.   I'm developing some irratation bumps that I assume are from the electric, due to repeating and irritation as I seek the BBS.  Have any of you found the "best" DE Blade that I can try in the LEAF.  If you have an idea, why do you think it works?  Any other words of wisdom is truly appreciated !!

Welcome to DFS!

I can't help on this, except maybe try blades to see the differences and your preferences.

Not a head shaver but I'll watch and try to learn as well.

fellow head shaver here too.

I stopped trying to get a BBS with my head shave. I'd often run into bumps in the back of my head.

Have you tried using a different razor altogether? while it's not a DE, I love my gillette skin guard as it's designed for sensitive skin: https://gillette.com/en-us/products/razo...skin-razor

Welcome aboard from a fellow head shaver!

Personally, I don't like the Leaf. I get better results from SE and DE razors. But have you tried loading your blades in different quantities and positions to change the level of aggression as shown below?

I have no experience with the Leaf razor and get great results with a DE. The problem with blade recommendations is that a great blade for me might not be the same experience for you.
My advice would be to try some different blades and perhaps a different razor or two. An old Gillette New open comb is my favorite head peeler...too mild of a razor takes too much buffing and touch up passes. You want to be efficient, get in and get out...at least in my experience.
Good luck!

I rather NOT go to a cartridge for sensitive skin, as the cost is high.  What DE razor(s) have my fellow Headshavers found to work well, other than the LEAF?  I'd prefer one with a longer handle, if possible!  Understanding blade selection is very individual.  Thx for your help with this!

Henson medium was the first razor to give me bbs on the back fringe. I prefer a more aggressive razor on the dome. The Blackland Blackbird is the DE that I reach for the most when I am looking for an efficient head shave.

I wish I could afford the Blackland for a headshaver!  Anyone else have any ideas that don't cost $300?

The Timeless aluminum is a very efficient AND affordable razor. Another favorite is the Above The Tie SB90. Perhaps it will be available again soon as Blackland has purchased ATT and will continue the brand in the future.

I acquired my Blackbird in stainless steel on BST for far less than $300 Smile

Merkur Progress Long is treating me well.  I am sad it’s no available in Ti or SS.  Razorock Ti handle is long and sometimes goes on sale in the events at IB.  Always look out for a Slim in good condition at a good and price.
