Awesome thanks! I have been a member since January and looks like I have 6 posts, so only a few more to go, unless I’m mistaken on the rules. Will try to get a little more involved!

First shave tonight with the Ti coated SS NO75. Felt nearly identical to my high polished NO75 but with a little more glide. Looks really cool on my razor rack. I need a few shaves with it to give a good review but first impressions are very good.
Also I posted a pic of it with my Gillette Gold Toggle and Charcoal Goods Brass & Copper razors to give perspective to its color.

The razor looks very nice. It surely resembles brass. I had no idea Ti could come in different colours.

They use this finish in motorsports for parts that need slide smoothly yet take abuse from debris kicked up from other vehicles. Should be similar effect to Aji’s HardKote Al baseplate on the hybrid albeit more harmonious in one colour

Pretty

I asked Aji about the Ti coating here was his response
The N075 coated Titanium has a lower friction and little more glide than the SS N075, creating outstanding sliding wear performance. Produced by proprietary physical vapor deposition process in a vacuum chamber.

Uniform coating with no buildup on edges unlike electroplating process. Environmentally friendly process and alternative to plating technology.

Inert and stable material, harder than carbide, 3X harder than hard chrome. Highly inert to acids, bases, solvents, caustic, etc.

Nontoxic and FDA compliant for medical surgical devices, and food processing equipment.

Interesting. It sounds like it is done in a similar way to the Tatara Dark razors. Presumably they are adding something to the titanium to give it the colour.

It is termed TiN - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium_n...%20applied.

Know DLC is even better for reduction of friction and wear resistance for motorsports, curious if that the case with razors.

Evening everyone! DanLaw was kind enough to include me in the pass around as we were discussing what I was looking for my next razor and he thought the N075 would fit the bill. As background about me, I started wetshaving about 2 to 3 years ago after trading in my Sensor Excel for my grandfather’s  superspeed. I have a very sensitive neck and after reading about the benefits of moving to a safety razor it made sense to make that jump. However, even with the superspeed I was getting some neck irritation. I finally got a Parker Variant at Christmas and I did notice an improved shave over my super speed. However I noticed quite a bit of blade feel even on its lowest settings I would still end up with some post shave irritation with my smoothest blades. So I started looking into mild and efficient razors and ended up getting included in this pass around.

Fast forward to yesterday when I got the razor in the mail and I was quickly blown away by how good the razor looked and how well it was constructed. I was going on 2 1/2 days growth yesterday to test how much hair the razor could handle. I paired the razor with a 5th use Polsilver SI, A&E Grecian Horse bowl lathered with a Simpsons 58 and finished with ZM unscented aftershave balm. I did end up with an area of mouth irritation on the neck likely due to some over shaving. I attribute this to the lack of blade feel and general mildness of the razor and probably just getting used to it. Even with that small area of irritation, the overall shave was far better than anything I’ve had with the Variant.

Today, I shaved on back to back days just to test how mild this shaver actually was. As an aside, I never would shave on back to back days with either my Parker, the superspeed, or even my cartridge razor due to skin sensitivity/remaining irritation from the day before. I decided to test out the cutting edge soaps to see how they performed. Of the two scents, citrus was my favorite as I found the lemongrass and lavender a little overpowering. When lathered the scent is not as strong on the face but it did leave a nice post shave aroma that Mrs. BEARDoc liked (and that’s really what matters). Density, cushion, and postshave feel were very good. As far as the shave itself, it went fairly well with a first use Nacet despite the small area of irritation remaining from yesterday. I’m really liking this razor and can easily see this in my den in the very near future. I’m looking forward to a few more shaves with this before passing it on and I’ll keep you updated on my thoughts.

Shaved with my N075Al this morning and it just never disappoints. Absurdly smooth, almost no blade feel, just so forgiving.

The appearance of this razor is not very interesting. But, for me personally, he is one of the best at work.
