GUNSTOCK

Home Made Gunstock for 35 mm cameras.

By swivelling the mounting bar, the camera may be moved forward or back and left or right.
I made the height to suit me. There are also 3 holes on the bar for further sideways adjustments. The mounting bar is "L" shaped and can be moved up or down.

I used it for a number of years until a policeman advised me that it was no longer advisable to carry anything that resemble a weapon.

The camera is a Canon FTb QL. My first bright SLR after using an Exacta VX IIa for 20 years.

It's a sad commentary on our world when many innocuous things can no longer be used because of their resemblance to weapons.

It looks quite functional. Unfortunately, think the policeman's advice was sound.

I have always found the advice of our police to be sound and wise and caring as well as timely, logical and welcome.

I would agree with the policeman as well. I hate it when companies come out with products for kids, such as a mobile phone cover, that makes it look like a gun.

In the US, a toy gun is required to have and red or orange piece at the end of the barrel. I cant recall the specifics, though there are other guns that aren't firearms that kids play with that don't require that. I can recall at least one child being shots and killed by police by the toy that doesn't require that.

Why not paint the camera "gunstock" green, orange, white, blue or some other non-gun color? Problem solved. BTW - That camera mount is brilliant!
