Thank you again, looking forward to your soaps becoming available again!

Hi Robini Thanks for asking.

All formulae are going through big revisions. I've tinkered a lot Smile I'll talk about them once they're released, but you can already the see the change to the Primus vegan - Conca di Oro and the duck fat bases.

Mohammad, have you had any times you remember reading another not having a tolerance to goat's milk as I hear duck fat soap is very gentle. I am correct that someone may find duck fat shave soap to be fairly nourishing?

The formatting to me sounds really cool. I think it seems well done where I know what I am buying. I am really only shaving with 1 brand now but still don't mind the enticement of buying the Earl Grey Gelato. I really want something that is a solid and unique alternative for my skin. I have really liked everything I have shaved with. It was just very different is certain aspects to what I am used to. Happy to see the continued growth in products as it looks like we heard mention of the aftershaves. I shall go take a look on the website now. Chat soon and cheers!

Hi zaclikestoshave

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by tolerance to goat milk. I have not had any reports of anyone having issue with goat milk in my soaps. The Duck fat soaps have been well received. Duck fat has a make up that is in between olive oil and tallow. I believe it impart a really nice feel to the skin.

The aftershaves are a still a work in progress but I hope to finalize them soon. I think you would enjoy the Early Grey Gelato. It really does have a gelato vibe to it Smile

Thanks for your response. I wasn't talking directly about your soap but just in general if you have read that others may not have been in favor of goat milk soaps. For example, I tried Cold River Soap Works Goat Milk soaps v1 and v2 and I don't think my skin was enhanced by the effects. I know I liked other ingredients in Larry's soaps but they didn't seem compatible. I think that I will definitely try to buy one of the duck fat soaps but as before, I have to see how my experience with the soaps consistency given that it may be soft.

Hello Mohammad,
Janus tallow sounds very interesting, how does it compare to the lamb tallow version in terms of slickness, cushioning and post shave feel?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Hi Razdon

Janus bases are closer to the Lusso base, cushion is enhanced, they're heavier bases. I try not to hype the bases Smile because I think each base speaks for itself. They're somewhat different from each other. A lot of the feel also depends on people's skin type, humidity, and how far one is willing to go in hydrating a base. I have already started to notice that some customers prefer certain bases over other ones.

One thing that changed all the bases for the better is what I learnt doing research on wound treatments, skin barrier perturbation and trans dermal drug delivery. I hope the reception is positive of the new bases and the revision of the existing formulae. Yeah, shaving is brutal Smile

I was also thinking if Thater 28mm 3-band which seem to be highly regarded.

Thank you very much Mohammad for the accurate explanation! I'm looking forward to trying the new bases and Janus lamb + beef tallow is certainly on the top of my list!
Hope to be available real soon! Cheers!

GroomingDept launched on my birthday last May (2017) so I had to check it out! It was very generous and kind of Mohammad to let me try out some future offerings.

Janus Tallow V16. It is quite a soft soap but I see Mohammad is already up to V18 which is a bit harder. Just two shaves down so just initial thoughts. Incredible slickness and the soap can take buckets of water. I loved that part. The razor just glides like butter. I noticed the silky feeling of the soaps lather and how it carried over post shave.

Head shave last night with a good weeks growth and the Janus handled it beautifully. This is a creamier lather than last renditions and the post shave is what we all expect from artisans today. Balms are becoming unnecessary.

Regular weekday face shave this am and just tackled the third pass using the residual slickness like I had a first pass lather uploaded.

Marshmallow extract, Larch Tree extract and other goodies I know nothing of but will make interesting bedtime reading tonight. Incredible soap and just one of the formulas forthcoming.
