Oh my goodness, I haven't wanted another dog again until you went and posted Enzo!

I got a note from Mohammad. He said that the response to this release has been great. I placed my order within the first 5 minutes of release as I have learned that in the case of Grooming Dept that those who procrastinate are likely to be disappointed. Tobacco Oud, English Lavender, and Oud Osmanthus sold out quickly. I suspect some others will as well.
Mohammad did not list the scent notes for Sandalwood Nobile. I am not certain that it is an exact replica of the Sandalwood Nobile scent from the Janus Tallow days, but that one was essentially a pure sandalwood scent.
I have a lot of soaps in my collection, far too many according to my wife. However, I keep adding the best soaps I can find to my collection. Every now and then I go back and shave with one of the soaps that I considered to be one of the best soaps in my collection just a few years ago. Over that time, the quality of artisan soaps has improved so dramatically that I find that I no longer enjoy using these older soaps. They are suitable for providing an excellent shave, but the overall experience of using them just does not meet my current standards. I have been spoiled by soaps like Kairos. Even some of Mohammad's earlier formulations no longer are quite good enough.

I looked last night, at which time English Lavender and Tobacco Oud were sold out. They were the first two to go. As I write this, Oud Osmanthus, Sandalwood Nobile, and Diamond Dust are also sold out. The time to buy is now. I think that is unfortunate, but that is how it is.

Always surprised at how fast lavenders sell given thst many soapmakers are hesitant to release lavender scented products (incidentally, am a huge fan of lavender).

This was advertised as a "prodigious" release, which IMO is a fair description: Think about your preferred artisans, and ask yourself "When is the last time one of them released 11 titles at once?" Space has always been a constraint for Mohammad, although less so after he moved. Nevertheless, when you divide space up 11 ways, it is simply not possible to keep all of them as well stocked as a smaller number. There are other constraints which also might restrict stock, e.g., capital outlay, just to name one conceivable possibility.(07-22-2022, 03:45 PM)HighSpeed Wrote: I looked last night, at which time English Lavender and Tobacco Oud were sold out. I know I took a tangent from your reply Dan, and I am going to be optimistic and thank you in advance for bearing with me. FWIW I regard it as an important piece of perspective on stock levels in this particular drop. You provided the opportunity to get it said.

RayClem Mohammad was very generous to take his time in the middle of this very busy release to write to tell me that GD vendors should have their orders in the next few weeks or so. I don't know exactly if the vendors would carry all of the 11 soaps released yesterday or only a select number.
I love the spirit and generosity of the wet-shaving community and the artisans who make top of the line products these days. I refrain from publicly bragging who my favorite artisan / brand is and who is not. The great artisans earn their own success and reputation through the work they put into their products and caring for their customers. They certainly don't need praise from someone like me who is not active on social media and has never posted a SOTD.
That said, Mohammad's gesture to reach out to answer my inquiry which I directed to a respected GD fan, RayClem was quiet touching. This shows the extent to which he goes out of his way to care for his customer.
