4.13 is fantastic. I find it equal to Aion with a slightly better post shave and Nai will only improve from here.

Mohommad did a lot of research and development on Kairos and got feedback from a lot of people around the country during this process.  He learned a lot along the way.

The things he learned will be used to improve the three bases he plans to produce going forward: Kairos, Mallard and Nai. Although Nai is one of the best soaps available today, with the addition of things learned from Kairos, I expect the Nai releases in the future to be even better.

I am also just like NJDJ.
I am sure mo is working to create the best soap. But his sight has been quiet for a long time. I check on this forum and yes I see test and more tests and more tests. They really have no use for me or others that are not testing?
I have always had great customer service and once I questioned the 15 soap he sold that it was less superior then I expected. His response was very well received from me and understood.
But I am seeing some strange things from the soaps that are out there for sale. I use to see soap that would be sold out quick very quick. Now I see soap still 2 months later still for sale, this was unheard of a year ago.
And one more thing I am seeing many many for sale used. Again they use to get a great price but now i am seeing many 15 bucks,10 bucks and even less.
I am just pointing out my observation.

Am one of those guys selling some soaps. Allow an explanation, realizing can only vouch for self.

Have acquired approximately 5 soaps of each base comprising the primary rotation, which is exclusively Grooming Dept with exception of 1 Wholly Kaw Siero Naked. Well and truly have too much soap as only shave 3 times per week. NOTHING has changed regarding my current nor future usage, except acquiring a Nai and Kairos to use on occasion.

Unscented soaps sell less readily than the fancy scented varieties, which is fine as didn’t acquire with ease of disposal in mind. Retaining 2 each of the following:
Asinus - Spring and Fall
Pura - Summer
Pekin - Winter

Moving out Tacit for Nai and Kairos on occasional days when not doing the core rotation.

Some know have been acquiring secondary market scented Mallards, those are for a good friend trying to come to grips with loving the Mallard base but unable to get any more of the original chocolate scent he so strongly prefers.

Think people will find that there is a velvet rope economy developing in shaving where $600+ brushes and $700+ soap serum sets sell as fast as listed but even high end great products selling for less are eschewed.  That is what suggest is occurring: people have lost the ability to discern, instead relinquishing to the prevailing Veblenization of the economy

Is there anything that someone doesn't like about the Kairos base?
Also, just wondering why reviews and thoughts during the testing period aren't done behind closed doors?

....just curious. Smile

Hopefully, I don't miss the e-newsletter for the release because checking in, just to see another 'test' post (as interesting as they are) is doing my head in.  Smile Big Grin

I am just pointing out my observation.

I think most of the artisan soapmakers are seeing soaps taking longer to sell out. I used to consider soaps from Grooming Department and Talbot Shaving as unobtanium. Limited editions from the likes of Barrister and Mann and others sold out almost immediately, sometimes within minutes of release. Now you can find them in stock at some of the vendors sites. I believe the market is saturated with soapmakers, both traditional and artisan. There are many dozens of soapmakers. Some of those suppliers have multiple formulas. There well over a thousand soaps available. The "average" shaver (whatever that might mean) might use 4-5 tubs or pucks of soap a year.

I love evaluating new soaps and scents. At one time, I was purchasing several soaps every month. I have accumulated enough soap to last me for the next 25 years and I am unlikely to live that long. Now, I only purchase top tier soaps that will replace the lesser quality soaps in my den. I do intend to purchase at least one tube of Kairos.

Thus, relative to demand, there seems to be an oversupply of soaps on the market at the present time. Some of the artisans will close up shop, as several have done in the past couple of years, but new artisans keep popping up. It is somewhat like the dot.com bubble back in 2000. The bubble will burst and the market will come back into balance eventually.

The soaps on the site will be available on March 18, 11:00AM-PST. Forty eight hours before the release, I'll send out a mailing list message as another reminder.

Thank you for your business.

Thank you for asking.

I'm not sure which of them will be available. I'll post more details once I have an idea what will be ready.
