Same. Grabbed a Veritas also. Almost went with a backup of Mondrian Bay but I have way too many soaps.

Mandarin Bay is tempting me.... but I’m not a Bay Rum or Spicy scent fan.

I felt the same way about bay rum but mb is quite good and an awesome base.

Well, I just finished my first shave with Jasmine + Civet, Lusso base along with the Gd unscented preshave.

tl;dr at the end.

Really great stuff and it's pretty amazing just how creamy smooth the texture is.

All the aspects were great but the thing I noticed the most was..
1) The potential to take on water.
I loaded fairly liberally, as I do with all first runs. (About 20 seconds with a rung out synthetic Yaqi brush) I then paint the face and begin to agitate and build, while simultaneously adding water with a spritz bottle, held in the other hand.
I got it to a nice creamy, semi-gloss consistency, but just as I was about to shave, I noticed that the gloss was fading. Which suggests...More water.
So more was added and the amount of soap that was still being created, forced me to scrape my brush over the rim of my bowl. Even with what remained on the brush I was able to add more water and produce a lather that remained as rich and creamy on the last pass, as it was for the first.

Definitely a case of  'a little goes a long way'

2) the post shave

Usually, for me, it's pretty much second nature to reach for some form of post shave product once the shave is complete because you can just.....tell, if you'll be needing some. Even if it's because you love the scent and just want to use that little tiny spot where you may have used a bit too much pressure as an excuse to douse yourself with some good stink!

For this shave I did the 'apply surplus/remaining lather to face and leave on during clean up' routine

Well, it wasn't until about an hour later when I realized..."wait a sec. I didn't even use any post shave products and my skin feels great"

There aren't many that have done this before and my skin is quite dry. If a splash is alcohol based, I most definitely require some form of balm or moisturizer as well.

This base is top notch.

Tl;dr
- A little goes a very long way; very thirsty
- the lather is very creamy and smooth and remains just as rich during the last pass, as it did on the first. Zero signs of dissipation.
- Post shave is outstanding. Zero need for any additional products.

Ok, finally used SOAP and it is outstanding for a Vegan shave soap. I was able to get a thick creamy lather but it did take a bit longer to build the lather than it does with any of Mohammad’s tallow bases. The scent is just what it is named, soap. I still feel that Laundry is the best soap he has ever made from my shave yesterday but I was pleasantly surprised by this new Janus Vegan base. This new Vegan is still below Donkey Milk combo, Mallard and Lusso bases for me and that is just my opinion Sean !! I do like it though but it is really difficult for me to go all in on a Vegan soap because of things like lather build. I will also say that SOAP is the best performing Vegan shave soap that I have EVER used! Here is a pic of my brush after the lather build. I used a Grizzly Bay handle with a 26mm Fanchurian V2 knot.[Image: bf8654f7ae0965722c761af45918e71f.jpg]

So odd cause for me this is one of the fastest lathering bases. Glad you enjoyed it!

Man, I regret not snagging ‘Laundry’ when I had the chance. Love that Donkey Base!
