cant stop sniffing my tub of Wonderland! It is a musky scent, maybe from the civet. Has a interesting accord and scent notes that's for sure. The 2nd batch of Angel must of sold out pretty quick. Was a bit salty that I missed the 1st release by an hour or so (thought it was EST lol) then heard about the second release but by the time I made it to the site it was still sold out. lol just my luck.

Anyways, glad to see Mohammad is moving his soap quickly, and the public response is bordering on one of the best soaps on the market. Plus GD has been coming up with some excellent scent profiles, notes and ingredients that are not commonly used in other shaving soaps. Look forward to see what is next to come.

Thank you for the kind words. Wonderland has several musks, civet and castoreum too. I'm happy like it. It's is somewhat inspired by Dzing!

Angle will make a final come back for the year in about week

castoreum is one scent component that I don't think I have seen anyone else use in a shave soap. Anyhow, I like that you think outside the box coming up with original unique scents. Perfuming is a art, its cool how scent notes come together to make something magical.

Excellent news about Angel making a comeback, curious to see how the lamb tallow differs from the other formulas.

I believe Tallow and Steel used this scent in one of their soaps, awhile ago.

I can't lay claim to being the first to use castoreum in a shaving soap Smile B&M's Cologne Russe & T&S 150 had castoreum in them!

I know it is used quite a bit in perfuming but it would be great to see it being used more often. Cologne Russe smells great, actually just used the A/S the other day. T&S 150 sounds like it would be a interesting scent, but due to limited availability I haven't had the pleasure of trying it.

Have you tried the T&S 150? it sounds like a great scent. I do like how GD has been experimenting with less common scent notes like Opoponax , Guiacwood, Elemi, etc.

I guess beaver ass can be an acquired taste...err, smell as it were.

Actually, I learned a couple weeks ago that castoreum is used in making artificial raspberry flavoring so taste does apply. Sick

I had my first shave today with GroomingDept’s  Beef Tallow Base in “Magnolia & Oud”, and needless to say it was outstanding. I didn’t know what to expect when ordering it because I’ve smelled so many takes on Oud. I’ve never used Mohammad’s Magnolia in his Vegan base, but I remembered hearing that it was one of his favorites. I’m definitely a fan, to me it’s a “Manly Floral”. I love it! I enjoy Floral Scents, and to me this one is very well done. It smelled nice off the puck, but it needed to be lathered to truly experience it. I would put scent strength at an 8/10, which I enjoyed throughout the Shave. The Tallow Base is outstanding and held a ton of water. I had an excellent shave with it and the Post Shave was outstanding as with Mohammad’s other offerings. I really enjoyed this scent, and it’s right up there with my other favorites- “Angel” and “Voyage”. Well done Mohammad, I’m looking forward to your next Mallard releases!

Used Wonderland today and another home run from GD! Absolutely loved the scent on this one and of course the lather was amazing and post shave was outstanding. Interesting thing about these GD soaps is that my more aggressive razors don’t feel as aggressive using the lathers that I create from GD soaps in Tallow or Vegan bases. The protective cushioning is on another level. Don’t ask me to explain the scent but it was another wonderful one for my nose!!
