Got the big Bruce and rr hulk brushes

So I caved and paid the $25. Its giant but for a giant brush the handle is comfortable to hold and I love the Bruce handle. Haven't shaved with either yet. Both came squared off. Happen with my monster brush too but not the 24mm. I'm hoping their round out with use? Is it cause they got laid flat in transit?
Wish they'd use the same material from the 24mm on the bigger ones, it's slightly softer.
Over all soft brushes and nice handles. I dont know if I'll use the hulk much but it's nice to have in my collection. Even came in a clear plastic box vas their black ones, should be nice for displaying it.

Quick question though, have you (or anyone else for that matter) noticed any of your Plissoft brushes getting "prickly" with use? I've felt this before splaying the brush while face lathering that they're not as soft as they used to be. Both the original and the Monster. Paint brush strokes are fine though. It could just be my imagination. I've been using my badger brushes more lately and don't get this pokey, prickly feeling that I get from synthetics sometimes.

I haven't noticed Any of my plissofts get prickly . Had the original for almost a year now. It was one of 3 for a while but with these two has grown to 13 synthetics I rotate through. It's probably the 3rd most used due to it being 2nd softest. Now my black satin tip feels prickly and it was the most used, though could be it just feels so compared to the others, like what happen to my boars and badger. I'd have to get another new black satin tip to compare. I hope brushes don't get prickly as their used I can't use that satin tip anymore.

Something to not and might be why yours feel that way. There's some hairs that got glued upside down. If you look carefully you'll see them as a clear or white hair ammongst silver/brown hairs. The bottom of the hair is not soft at all. I go through and cut them out cause every so often they'd line up right and pock when brushing or splaying. My shaver revolution study had a bunch made worse by having more backbone.
My 24 plissoft didn't have any more does my wolf whiskers. But my two Maggard's, stirling 22mm, plissoft monster, And now these two all did. Was a simple but time consumer fix.
They'll mass produced in China so I suppos its to be expected Somme hairs end up put in wrong

I get the same feeling as you.

I always thought the original Plisson was too small a knot and too soft and kind of floppy.
But I still own one Plisson and like it for what it is.

I now own 15-20 Plisson style knots, that all are more dense.

I get the saem feel as you do.

Just painting the lather on, perhaps massaging in it a bit, they are angel soft.
But when ever I use a soap, that that given day needs a bit of extra face lather massage, to create the lather texture I want that given day, I will start to slowly press the brush in a bit deeper, making the knot splay slightly more and more out.

Thsi is when the more dense Plisson style knots start to feel borderline prickly on my skin.
Kong, Monster and several like that feel the same here. Angel soft, when not pressed in. Prickly og kind of rough, once you start to really splay the brush out on your skin.

I imagine a bowl lather will not experience this, as they make all the splaying needed in the bowl, not on the face.

Used it this morning and it was wonderful. Make great lather.
I'll probably only use it with stirling or my tobs though, since it's uses more soap/cream and for conatainer size of stirling is only one it fits in. It was surprisingly soft even when splaying. I'm guessing that's due to its loft and size. Could almost paint my whole face in one paint stroke with it.
I'd say if you're not one who cares about per ¢ shave cost then use it. I have so much soap and stirling is cheap so I'm fine with wasting more lather. I expected to only use it once or twice but now it'll be in my rotation

Those are the two brushes at the top of my list once my yearly sabbatical is over.
