Go to Pomade?

Has anyone tried the WSP pomade?  The site says it is a stong-hold/low-shine product.

I’ve tried both the wax and clay. What questions do you have?

For the clay version, is there much shine? I prefer low to no shine. Does it hold up well over the course of the day? Does it wash out easily? Thanks!

I would say it’s definitely a low sheen and not a no sheen. It did a great job of holding throughout the day. I can be pretty active at work and I never had a problem with it lasting all day. It is a beeswax base so you don’t get that crunchy feeling you get with most water based pomades. Because of the beeswax I found it a little difficult to wash out but not hard. I hope that helps.

Thanks dabearis, that is a big help. They currently have dented tins on sale, so I'm going to put an order in for one and give it a try.

It occurs to me that pomade isn't needed if you don't have hair.  

Has anyone tried the Barrister and Mann Reserve Pomade? I think it's a collaboration with Shear Revival (Crystal Lake base, if I am not mistaken).

I bought a tub of the Holy Black Matte-Clay pomade on Black Friday. It's a firm hold / no shine pomade. Having used it a few times, I will say the description on use/shine is extremely accurate. I love the "no shine" aspect but the Hold is much more than I need...it actually makes my hair feel "bullet-proof". The thing I love the most about this pomade is the scent...probably the best scent of any pomade I've ever smelled. Also, the scent lingers longer than any other pomade I've used. I can still pick up whiffs of the scent several hours after use. Overall, I would definitely recommend this pomade to anyone looking for a natural-look with strong hold.

I have really gotten into pomades this year! Mostly I use Oil Base (traditional) pomades with medium hold and medium shine.

My issue was, so often a pomade would be *almost* perfect for me but not quite. Plus, I wanted them to tie in better with Wet Shaving.

Last month, I had my hair cut for the first time in about four years. My "short" hair, which is not really that short, requires a pomade to keep the mass on top in place. The Palm Springs barbershop recommended Layrite Medium Hold, Water Based, Original. Which I've used every day since. Perfect for me. I don't have the C2 (which looks intriguing), but I've got bunches of others.
