I've got two 5 packs of those left. A friend sent me some a few years ago. Notice the 'Kobenhavn' on the back of the package .... that's how they became known as 'Swedes' IIRC they were always made in St. Petersburg.

IME these are not as smooth as the Swedes I used to get a decade ago. They're good, but they used to be the best on my particular face. Not so much anymore.

Kobenhavn is danish for copenhagen.
But they do mention Stockholm few lines below it.

I bought those 15+ years ago and I find them super sharp but not as smooth as the blacks and london bridge. There has been much debate about where they were produced, but it was almost assuredly NOT in the St. Petersburg facility which currently produces some of the latest iterations of Gillette DE blades. Rumor and speculation has it that Real Swedes' were produced in Lodz, Poland and another speculation points to the production in UK then France, then Argentina, followed by Mexico, then Czech Republic & lastly St Petersburg, Russia. In the end that's all it is, rumors and speculation.

I said ... IIRC ...  Big Grin Stockholm is more likely how the blades became known as Swedes.

Max, I'm getting old ... don't remember precisely ... if I ever knew.  Rolleyes

What I do remember is I found Feathers to be the sharpest in like 2007-8 ... but not the smoothest. Swedes seemed to me (back then) to be equally sharp but smoother by far.

The ones I now have are not quite as good as the old ones, but then again, that's just me. YMMV.

I just received my package from this guy and the individual tucks were wrapped in Bubble Wrap, not the original box. What's worse, there were tucks that were broken open and blades were falling out.

If you want to get these blades from a reliable source, go with BullGoose.

They are all the same Gillette Platinum blade, blue, white, or color combo. Same UPC code. Now as to whether there have been incremental improvements over the years is subjective and something we will likely never know. To speculate is meaningless as we don't have the facts and Gillette isn't saying. That said, I have never received a bad shave from any of these and yes, I have used them all. Personally, I think the current Gillette blades are the best ever made.

These are stamped with a MFG date of February 2021, so they look like continuance of the Platinums. Laser-engraved.

I agree that any of the current production Gillette Platinums are excellent. To be honest, neither the white or blue packaging strike me as being the same as the Swedes. I’ve compared them back-to-back and my subjective take is that they’re not the same.

Back in 2009 or so, the best guess we had was that the Swedes were made in Poland. Could have been bogus, though.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.
