Gillette milord USA made Rocket

Does anyone know about a Gillette milord USA rocket 24 karat gold razor. I just bought one in its original case and blade dispenser and was wondering if it's rare or not. I never heard of a USA made rocket

Not rare and not a Rocket. It's merely a gold plated Super-Speed.

Sorry it's a usa-made rocket milord made in 49 to 50. They were only made for I believe one month in December I spoke to a expert on Gillette he believes only eight of them exist. Matt from Razor Emporium has it on his list of two razors he doesn't have a sereal toggle and the USA Gold rocket ....in good shape with the original box and blade Bank says it's worth well over $1,000 I don't know now if I want to part with it.

I just found out that Gillette produced this USA rocket milord for one day only. Don't know why but I'm wondering how many of them they could have produced in only one day of production...I hear theres only eight known to exist. This seems to be getting better and better

I'm more curious as to why Gillette would have made them only for a day, 8 seems low even for just a day but maybe there were problems resulting in only 8 being made and they decided to cease producing them. Given that it must take some time and investment to tool up for a production run of a particular razor even if they were assembled from mostly parts in inventory, I'm surprised they'd give up after just one day. A mystery for sure.
