WhollyKaw has partnered with Viant, a Consensys formation to build a blockchain app or Project Sunshine to provide better transparency to ingredients, benefits and claims.

Often times, we struggle to understand what is really in a skincare or cosmetic product. INCI nomenclature makes it hard to comprehend what the heck is Tetrahydrodemethoxydiferuloylmethane which in plain English is one of the active ingredients from Turmeric. But cosmetic makers are forced to use those INCI names due to regulations. And makers have not made the effort to demystify or explain in plain English what these INCI names mean to the layman.

The first goal also led us to claim substantiation - how do we communicate the ingredients efficacy or how do we distill the information we receive from ingredient vendors and their technical documentation.

Project Sunshine will be demoed at the Ethereal Summit in Brooklyn Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11.

Thats a great plan! I'm sure I'm not the only one who will welcome the information in plain English. Hopefully it can clarify the landscape for us because there's a lot of information out there that often takes advantage of the average consumer. Will it clarify that substances that are "natural" aren't always good and substances that are "synthetic" aren't always bad?

The dissemination of all natural is not always good and all synthetic is not always bad is one of the spin off benefits of this project. We get a ton of documentation around ingredients including in vivo tests, in vitro tests, clinical tests, before after pictures, day 0 vs day 28 pictures and certifications such as vegan, kosher, halal, organic etc. We want to expose some of these information to the end users in a user friendly way through this project.
