I went to a local antique store and pick up a gem 1912 in very good condition. I clean it , disinfected and polish. I havent shave woth it yet . I dont know if is more aggressive than a gem MMOC

I find the 1912 to be an efficient shaver that with moderate skills a guy can get done without blood. The Micromatic I find aggressive! Not "never again" aggressive but "don't go to sleep" aggressive. I reach for this one when no shave November is over. Light touch and good blade angle and she'll whittle whiskers. Lose concentration and she might shave a bit closer than you wanted.

I find the different models of 1912 to all shave slightly differently, but could that be manufacturing tolerances of the day? I just don't know.

They all give a great shave. As Lipripper wrote, pay attention. If you can't handle it just put it away for a time until your skills improve. Then come back to it.

I had a Damaskeene (1912) and an MMOC at one point. The MMOC was way more aggressive to me.

What I have found with the MMOC is that if I keep the top cap against my skin during the shave and apply a little pressure, I can get very close and comfortable shaves. The angle is almost non-existent. Keep the strokes short and slow as well. Hope this helps and good luck!

I shaved with the same type GEM razor this morning. A three-pass shave with the usual clean-up on the neck resulted in a BBS shave. Have you tried it yet?
