However, the synthetic I never cared for. It almost put me off synthetics until I decided to take a chance on the Plisson pour L'Occitane synthetic, based on some reviews, and realized how truly wonderful a synthetic could be. The FS synthetic developed huge doughnut holes with every lather, no matter what I tried. Also, while the hairs on the FS synthetic aren't bad, they just don't hold a candle to my Plisson pour L'Occitane.

Have you tried any of the Grooming Company "Plisson" knot brushes? I received one from Ted ( stroppinglad) in a soap trade and I absolutely love it. It has a more dense and less floppy knot than the L'Occitane synthetic and for me it really hits the spot , creates lather like an absolute demon but is dense enough not to feel too floppy and all over the place. I think they are a bit more pricey than the Plisson is though.

No but I'm keeping my eye on one or two others. Big Grin
Is the Stirling brush one of them?

I was gifted one when I first started wet shaving. it worked just fine, but it was too floppy for me when I decided to start face lathering over bowl lathering. I ended up gifting the brush to a friend of mine who was new to wet shaving. from my understanding, he still uses it.

ah..the circle of life, lol.

From both my experience and what I've read in the forums, they are extremely hit or miss, which is why I would never suggest spending a lot on one. I've set a max for myself of $20 for FS brushes. At that price I'm not too worried

Looks like the new fiber is something similar to Yaqi SK06 Horse.
But with nice handles.

Wow, I like a few of those. Any idea who sells them?

I've seen on Amazon.
I think in your ordinary FS shop will be available.
Maybe just drop a line.

I'd go via FB / eBay / AliExpress.

Gotcha. Not seeing these designs in the usual haunts. Hopefully they're just on their way, still? Almost certain I want to try this one, if they are around the same price as most FS brushes. The color scheme is what I am missing in my collection (and looks awesome). Of course this is only if their 24mm.

I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for the heads up![Image: 26580ff66e2a2b422e8cc8e056b5ff54.jpg]

Not sure if G5 is a standard or something, but I just saw this afternoon that Maggard's is selling a new G5 knot. I'm quite curious, as I've seen a lot of positive talk of FS's G4 and now the G5 .

"New! G5 Brush Knots.

The G5 has increased back bone and more natural splay.

The Maggard line of Synthetic Shaving brushes are sure to be a favorite among beginners and veterans alike.

For all of you hobby brush makers, we are happy to be able to provide these knots for all of your custom brush projects.

Knot Size: 26mm

Total Height from base of plug to tips: 70mm
