[Image: 9e6TJk8.jpg]This thread is hopefully the start of some good times with as many people as possible getting involved.
Recently (last wednesday) I got bored and had an impulse buy of a tub of Derby shave soap. A product of Turkey and competitor to Arko. Having seen posts about it very sporadically over the years. And a little of surfing the web and reading the reviews. I decided to give it a try.
Much like Tabac it seems to have a following. And is also seems to have it's share of detractors. I would like to have this tub of Derby pass through as many shave dens as possible.
So anyone that gets it. Tries the soap and then posts up here. And tell us all what they think. Good, bad or ugly. Post up pics or videos. Passes it along to the next one that he knows will keep it going. Now the pessimist in me says it only makes it a few stops then winds up MIA. But who knows. So if you see this tub show up at your door. Just think to yourself.
"Wow someone out there cares enough about me. To send a wax paper tub of extremely inexpensive Turkish shave soap for me to try."
My first victim....I mean person I care about already knows it's headed his way. My bestest shaving forum buddy Dave in KY Enjoy it Dave.
Maybe you surprise your choice for who gets it next.

My first shave with Derby and the nexus for this thread.
[Image: rGvlTSb.jpg]Monday’s shave.
This one features an impulse buy.
I’ve seen this Derby soap off and on over the years. And boredom the internet plus PayPal is a dangerous formula. So I present to you Derby Shave Soap. From the exotic land of Turkey??
The Improved Swiss Razor got the call tonight.
The puck of Derby called for a stout brush so Omega boar  bristles scoured enough soap out of the fancy waxed paper container. To make a thick creamy lather. I spent extra time whipping it up. And the “unique” scent of this soap filled the bathroom. Not quite sure how to describe it. I’m guessing it may be an acquired taste kind of thing. First impression after one use. It’s better than just water to shave with. You can see where you’ve been with the razor. It probably will keep any biting insects away if you happen to be shaving outdoors near a swamp or landfill.
As I was basking in the luxury of it all. I had an epiphany.
Why should I hog all this goodness to myself?
And since my momma always said that I should share my stuff with my friends. That’s just what I’m gonna do. So tomorrow at the UPS store the first leg of the “Soap Box Derby ” begins.

Thats the spirit Dave in KY  I thought about putting an ominous note in with it like.  "If you don't post up on the thread and send the soap along to someone else. You'll get nicks every shave and never be able to get BBS again". But thought better of it.

I'm working till about 8:00 to 8:30 tonight but got a notification that UPS has something out for delivery for me today. Ken must have a buddy with ups that gives him special delivery treatment. Looks like Derby is on deck for tomorrow and I'll have to think of who the next recipient will be........

How dare you point out facts Dave.
If you guys are looking for me to set the examples around here. That’s a mighty risky proposition.
