Good shave but the day sucked. The air circulation motor in my central air conditioning unit gave up the ghost. And I might not be able to get it swapped out until Friday. On a plus note one of my friends was able to loan me a window AC unit so I can continue to sleep in my bedroom. Instead of in the basement like an old hound dog on the concrete floor.
Also on the plus side. Was able to get a new motor and capacitor for 5% over cost. Through a contact. And also getting a friend to help re-engineer it to take the non-ramping motor. Cause the oem type of motor. Costs $ 1000 and this one costs $50. So yea we are gonna go that route…duh!
Hope you guys had a better Wednesday than me.

Sorry that happened Ken.  I read your post and thought immediately of your Marine background.  Well done!

Thanks for the kind words Mike. But I have to correct you. I was in the Army. Not Marines. Same mindset, different branch.

My bad. Sorry Ken.

Lots of things happened at Casa Fluffy this past few days.
When last mentioned here. My AC was of the fritz. Well with some help from a guy that knew how to wire it up. I replaced the air circulation 1/2 HP motor.  Using a "universal" motor. Instead of the OEM variable speed motor.  This was  over a $900 savings. So it's fixed and working fine.

The other change that has been made. Is that I finally made the decision to get a new string trimmer. After alot of research I decided to go with an Echo SRM 225.
Should be good to go for (hopefully) many years.  First order of bidness was to remove the two "plugs" that block the low and high throttle mixture adjustment screws on the carburetor. Then I removed the spark arrestor in the muffle.  Next thing was to gas her up and make some noise.  Started super easy and ran pretty well. Just a little lean on the high side. So 1/4 turn out on the that screw and she smoothed right out.  I look forward to putting it to the test and seeing if the Echo earns my respect.

The Henckel's 412 showed up during all of the drama. And I cleaned it up a little and honed it up. Nice little 5/8 razor. Very nicely ground and made. There is a reason this brand has such a strong following.

And just yesterday my bar of brass showed up at the door. So the Fluffy Industries-Jojola Aerospace collaboration "Brass Edition" project is moving forward. Currently in the design phase. It will based on my favorite vintage brush. The Rubberset 400. With some aesthetic changes to make it more than just a copy.

This morining I finally got my tomato plants put into the raised bed that I made from some old pallets.

Have some WSBK races to watch this evening. Rooting for my boys from Bolognia (Ducati).
Hope you are all having a good Saturday.

Tabac Aftershave

After 5 shaves on this 1996. It started tugging a bit. So a little touch up was done on the Dans Translucent Arkansas. It was back to good running order for this shave. So we’ll see if this time it makes it more than 5 shaves before becoming uncomfortable.  This is all rather subjective. As my idea of tugging/poor performance. May be an edge that others would find acceptable.
The Brass Edition project is moving forward. Jojo Aerospace Solutions has taken possession of the raw materials. A combination of CNC and old school “manually indexed” milling will be used to produce the handles. One will be very similar to the Rubberset 400 inspiration. The others I have given creative liberties to him. It will be interesting.
Hope you all had a good Tuesday.
