I haven't sold on fleabay for some time.

Last Sunday, I listed a Duofold ballpoint pen and put a reserve on the listing. And didn't think much about it. Today I was charged $14.63!

Holy Smokes! That's the fee for a Reserve listing.

And its the price I just paid for the lesson in selling. Pretty sure I won't be doing that again.

I rarely sell on ebay since the final value fees went to 10% or more depending the category. Now they've got their own payout system and you have to give them your banking info, and they transfer the funds to your bank in a few days.

The last I remember reserve auctions were $7.00 USD fee if the item didn't sell. If it did sell the fee was waived. Back then final value fee was 5% too. Many moons ago. As of 2022 Congress has passed a law limiting the amount you can get paid by a 3rd party app, like paypal, ebay, etsy, etc to $600.00. That or anything over that will generate a 1099 form.

I think they did that on reserve auctions to eliminate the "squatters" who list stuff forever & ever with some unrealistic reserve price that will never sell and just eats up bandwidth. After all, it's an auction site, not a museum.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.
