You will be fine. Just pay attention to your angles, your pressure, and your lather. Go slow, go smooth, and work towards comfort over closeness to start out. As your technique developes, those DFS and BBS shaves will come on their own. Chasing it will only lead to irritation, sop just let it come to you.
And when you're ready for straights...the fun REALLY begins! I got bit by the straight bug HARD about 2-3 months ago or so. Just a fantastic way to shave, but it will be beneficial to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of angle and pressure before moving on.
