Better get 'em before they're gone at Maggard Razors!! I know artisans hate making samples, but I think in the long run it sells more soap as many are afraid of a tub blind buy and rightfully so as they say the most expensive product is the one you've bought & don't use.

If they're sold at Maggard the artisans don't make them, Maggard employees do.

True.

Also true.

Samples are great for consumers, but having gotten into the habit of just taking a sample or three out of every new soap I get, I can attest to the fact that it’s a real drag. Glad that someone provides that service. I have to say, though, I can’t recall ever smelling an Ariana & Evans scent that I didn’t enjoy. Smile

Spartacus was over the top "metrosexual" for my tastes and Tertius too much oud/leather for me as well. Great soaps however.

My nine samples came today. Yes, nine.  Blush

Uno - smells like the old Giorgio For Men powerhouse cologne of the 80's.

Vetiver Magnifique like Guerlain Vetiver

Grecian Horse. The co. says "Almond, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Lavender, Jasmine, Heliotrope, Amber, Cumin, Bergamot" and I must admit I prejudged this one before buying a sample and man was I wrong!! What an intriguing scent!! It smells like something Wholly Kaw dreams of making. Sort of a Fougere Bouquet on steroids.  Wink

Platinum - it' obvious this is a kissing cousin to Uno. A little sharper around the edges however.

Barbiere Sofisticato - "Powder, leather, spices, woods…it’s all here." Well, it's tart. Very. Not my style.

Monte Carlo - Inspired by Dior Sauvage and too metrosexual for this old coot.

Asian Plum -  What an interesting and refreshing take on plum. Very nice.

Which One's Pink? - Smells like bad breath to me.

Vanille de Tabac - "opulent essences of tobacco leaf and aromatic spice notes. The heart unfolds with creamy tonka bean, tobacco flower, vanilla and cocoa and finishes with dry fruit accord enriched with sweet wood sap."  Very different & interesting (and dark brown in color).

This is of course merely whiffing these in their respective small tubs and not lathered. That said, Grecian Horse & Asian Plum take the brass ring with Vanille de Tabac in the running.  Wink

Yeah, didn't take long for them (at least the ones I looked at) to sell out. Hopefully they'll restock these samples on a regular basis.

I don't live where it gets cold anymore, but if I did I would be buying a tub of Vanille de Tabac. I just shaved with it and aside from the usual outstanding performance this soap's scent really came to life when lathered and it really lingers as well even after washing with a cleanser. What a very deep & rich scent. Color this codger impressed. Beautiful.  Wink

One of my favorite soapers. Lovely scents. I really enjoyed my samples.
