There have been previous threads excoriating the USPS for delays and mishandling deliveries. In the Post Office's defense they handle millions of mail each day and things happen. But now lets beat up on Fedex. Last Tuesday I sent my Wife's Apple watch back to Apple repair center in Ohio. Apple sent us a box with an express Fedex return label. I brought the watch to a Fedex location in my City and they got the watch back the next day. Two days later they shipped the watch back via Fedex express. I should have gotten it last Friday. Tracking says the watch is still at their Memphis hub and in delay( no kidding). So probably and hopefully I will get the watch back soon. Am I mad at Fedex. Absolutely not. Things happend beyond our control. So the next time you want to blast the Post Office read this thread.

bottom line. If it was a razor and this happened I would be livid.  Dodgy

Just had a rant on my last video about this. Didn't feel like fighting the crowd at Walmart so since it was free delivery I ordered my printer to be delivered. Mind you they had them in stock in Williamsburg Kentucky but this came from Kodak Tennessee which is just east of Knoxville Tennessee an hour south of me. Sent by FedEx it went to Knoxville then to Nashville, wrong direction. Hey people make mistakes right I can live with that. Sent back to Knoxville and then sent back to Nashville and then sent back to Knoxville again......... That's when I didn't get any more updates. At this point they had said delivery on Monday then Tuesday then Wednesday and again it went dead on Thursday when it said it left Knoxville. I assume surely by now they've got it straightened out but nope almost 48 hours later I start a case and then it showed up two days later but they stopped giving updates because they saw how stupid it was bouncing back and forth. It was supposed to come on Saturday and at 7:00 I told my wife well I guess it's not coming today either but lo and behold the dog goes nuts at 7:30 something and there's FedEx with the printer. I told him I didn't expect to see him and what was going on and he said he's heard multiple stories about that. Either there's some seriously inept people or it was a computer foul up.

While we're at it here's my work shirts that were supposed to come this past Saturday from South Carolina about 3 hours away from me. We will have to see what kind of route it continues to take but so far it's circling me......and yes FedEx again.....

I hear ya. I've had my own fair share frustration with the postal service... Probably posted about them, too. I've also had plenty of problems with FedEx (and UPS). In the end we have to try to remember: No one is infallible, or if they are, they're too busy being a God to worry about delivering our packages. Fedex priority is businesses not residential. The same with UPS. The Post Office is a crap shoot.

The packages are seasoned and won't be delivered before their time.  Big Grin  I figure that in case like Dave in KY  describes above where, by reason of sheer proximity, they could easily deliver the package in under an hour or at worst the same day, they set the package aside and will deliver it in the time frame based on the level of service specified for the package.  If they deliver a normal non-rush/priority package in rush/priority time then people will stop using and paying for rush/priority because its not worth the extra money if the package arrives in the same time frame.  Rush/Priority is the fates and everything else has to be slower driving you to pay for rush because youre impatient.  Same goes for service levels on airlines.  They can only make first /business class so good and then they have to start degrading all lesser classes so it is more attractive by comparison.  Smaller seats, less leg room, baggage check fees.  All things that used to be normal in economy are now either taken away or charged for.

I understand what your point is but unfortunately it did not apply to this. The estimated delivery was on Monday and that was after the amount of time from purchase that it should have been delivered. I don't think bouncing back and forth between Knoxville and Nashville three times was part of the plan to just make me want to buy expedited delivery at some point LOL And it certainly was not cost-effective for sure........

And business or residential doesn't matter if the system is broke it affects all of their parcels

Well people, let's be honest in that it's that time of year and every order is a roll of the dice now and mistakes/delays/FUBAR's are bound to happen.

Just imagine you are in the 1800's when it took a month or better to arrive..........with arrows sticking out of the package!!   Big Grin

I have generally had good success with USPS Priority Mail. USPS First Class can be questionable.

FedEx Express and UPS Ground or Express are reliable.

FedEx Ground is a subsidiary of FedEx. It was founded as Roadway Package Service. FedEx purchased RPS so be able to compete with UPS in the ground delivery game. Unfortunately, they have not always been as reliable as UPS. I ordered a product from a store in the Milwaukee suburbs, about 100 miles from my home in the Chicago suburbs. In that situation UPS Ground normally delivers overnight. It took FedEx ground a few days to pick up the package. It got sorted at their Milwaukee area facility and was loaded on a truck for transit to the Chicago area. At that point the package totally disappeared. It was never delivered and never was scanned at another FedEx Ground facility. I have no idea what happened. FedEx did honor my claim through the seller.

I also had a shaving goods order ship via FedEx Ground. The order made it from South Carolina to a facility in central Illinois in a few days, so far so good. However, it took another ten days to make it from the FedEx facility to the Chicago area USPS distribution center. Once USPS had the package, it was delivered the next day.

Whenever I know a package is going to be shipped FedEx Ground I wonder if I will get the package in a reasonable time, if ever.
