Interesting that they are coming up with a new update after all these years, however I am kind of confused at the direction they are going in. It appears that they are going with a fatter edge making it almost a wedge, which was similar to the original Kai Captain design. The DX was shaped to mimic a semi hollow ground, which worked great. I would have thought that they would have continued that semi hollow grind design and put dimples in it similar to the latest Kai designs (which shaving with a Chinese clone of it, it shaved great).

Thanks for showing it though.  Happy2

It's actually very close to Kai Captain.
Wich I like and prefer.
DX had no skin stretching support.
SS had a lot, IMHO even too much.
This is a good half way, I think.

Love the head-on angle in the top row. Very helpful. When I heard about this coming out, I was debating between the SR and DX kamisori style razors ... very little interest in the training wheels approach to the SS. But still leaning towards the DX, more because I prefer the handle. The SR handles look like it would be too easy for gunk to build up and too hard to keep looking uniformly clean. In other close-up pictures I have seen, the baby blue and pink look slightly different (worse) than the black.

Zhang Doe Feather says you can boil these razors Smile and can easily be cleaned with ethanol.

The SR non-folding is a fantastic razor. Very smooth. I have been using the DX for most of the past 15 months. The SR is MIM stainless which makes it a bit cheaper for Feather to make compared to the DX.

I prefer the SR to the DX. But I'm sure some people love the aggressiveness and increased blade exposure of the DX.

This thread is very interesting. Thanks for the comments. I have the SS and the DX. Looks like they are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

Looks like this new head is somewhat of a hybrid between the two and may have broader appeal.

Having a Kai Captain, this Feather Super Razor is nothing new.
Not sure if I had a Feather SS. But I think nope.
