Favorite Tallow Soaps?

It seems like the market is just CHOCK FULL of vegan soaps these days. Everyone under the sun is coming out of the woodwork with a crockpot and a new vegan formula.

With that in mind, what are some of your favorite TALLOW soaps? Artisan or mass-production, it doesn't matter. Even the dreaded Arko qualifies!

Among those not my own, I'm a big fan of Mickey Lee Soap Works, Tabac, Valobra hard soaps (despite their sometimes weird underlying scent), and have just recently come to enjoy Strop Shoppe Limited Edition (I had historically had a lot of problems with their SE line). What are your favorites?

Leon at Pasteur told me that vegan soaps are easier to lather for people with hard water. That could be why they're so popular. Or maybe they're easier to make. Anyway, my list includes Tiki, Cella, B & M Latha, and Stirling. I have mixed feelings about MWF. Like the smell, it's slick, but I don't always feel like a workout before I shave. Am thinking of cutting off some slices and using them to lather, or hiring a milkmaid to churn it until it's butter.

My guess is that the "easier to make" part is a big portion of it, especially after the proprietors of Dapper Dragon and LA Shaving Co. posted extremely detailed tutorials on how to make vegan shaving soap.

I'd tend to agree. At my last count, there were about 10 artisans using some variation of MdC. The combination of available tutorials and low ingredient cost yield a very low barrier to making shave soap. From there, it's an easy transition into selling it.

Could not agree more. Barrister & Mann

B&m Seville and LA Vanille. Those scents are intoxicating. La Vanille at first made me so grossed out. After two lathers with it this sweetness started to come out. It's become one of my top 5 scents. I can't even describe it. But I feel it's a winter scent so I'm anxiously awaiting winter to pull it out. Seville is my summer scent.

I really want to try Bufflehead I just have the worst timing when I go to buy. Always sold out. One of these days I'll get a tub.
