We have a really great bar face soap if you prefer a bar for face soap. It is made with charcoal, tea tree oil, and lavender. All of our employees love it and it leaves your skin feeling clean but not dried out.

I've actually had good results from Trader Joe's Tea Tree face wash (I have rosacea on my cheeks).

Nuxe Rêve de Miel is great. I like also Sudsy's and Lisa's bar soaps.

About a year ago I transitioned to the Jack Black line of face washes and I rotate between them depending on when I shave.  I shave every other day and on those days I use a scrub before bed that helps to really get rid of all the dry/old skin (winter in Indiana is a dry place).  The regular daily face wash is great and I also use a charcoal wash they have occasionally as well to mix things up.

Out of Africa vanilla Shea butter soap. Makes a great pre-shave....really softens the whiskers.

gone to Carolina in my mind
It has been almost two years since I replied to this thread, and I've made some changes along the way.  I alternate between the CeraVe Hydrating Face Wash and the CeraVe Salicylic Acid Cleanser.  Unlike some shavers, the SA Cleanser does not work well for me as a pre-shave, but I still use it at other times.  The Hydrating Face Wash is on trial, although it seems promising so far.  I recently also picked up some CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser Bars.  The bars can be used for hand washing - which sadly is the new national pastime - and at least one shaver applies the bar soap as a prep, using a brush.  I figure if the bars just help keep my hands in good shape, they will be well worth the price.
