I've asked this on other forum's but am curious as to what AS/ASB's users of DFS prefer? I've recently come to enjoy Derby City Chop Shop Aftershave. I'm not a Bay Rum fan but this one has a light scent and is very protective. My favorite balm is actually SMN, I just don't care for the floral scent.

I have so many I like. It really depends on my mood, the weather, and what shave soap I used. Top favorites include Speick splash, Lucky Tiger splash, L'Occitane Cade balm, Proraso green splash and balm, Captain's Choice bay rum, and B&M tonique.

It really depends on whether I am going by scent, skin treatment properties, or both. And some are nice simply for variety. Here are some of my favorites, not in any order:

Balms:

Antica Barbieria Colla Apricot Hull
Acqua di Parma Collezione Barbiere
Myrsol Emulsion

Splashes:

Derby City Chop Shop
Barrister & Mann Tonique (Fougere and Cologne Russe)
Myrsol F-Extra

I have yet to try the ADP splash and Santa Maria Novella products (both balm and splash). I suspect they'd have made the list.

I have the ADP splash (marketed as a lotion). It's great but it's their Colonia scent so I anticipate I'll wear it more in the spring summer when I use citrus based fragrances.

Basically any of the offerings from Fine Accoutrements have been my favorites so far. American Blend and Clean Vetiver are at the top of the list. For a non-alcohol based splash I like the post-shave toners from Chatillon Lux. The only balm I've used and liked is Nivea Sensitive, great stuff!

How is the face feel on the ADP splash? Does it seem to treat the skin nicely? I'm sure I will like the scent as I really enjoy the Colonia series EDTs.

I really like AS splashes that have some aloe or witch hazel. Otherwise I like balms. I live in southern Alberta, so I have to deal with the fairly arid conditions.
Love the Beaver Woodright splash and Soapy Bathman balm.

I haven't used it in a while but from what I remember it is great on the skin. It also doesn't have the burn that others have.

Thanks mate! It has some very interesting ingredients on the label so I've been curious about how it feels.

My 2 favorite AS splashes are Italian Barber Amici and Captains Choice Cat o Nine Tails.

Bear in mind that I only shave my head, so this may very well impact my opinion...I've never used an aftershave on my face...in fact I haven't shaved my face more than 10 times in 20 years...anyhow...

For scent, it is without a doubt the Amici. Fantastic scent, and the light menthol cooling during the dry down is simply fantastic. I crave this scent...it really is that good, and the toning and finish is quite comfortable. I never have to worry about over-toning or drying out with this one. Excellent finish, if a little mild at times, but when it feels mild, the scent still pushes it over the top, for me.

For skin feel, its the Captains Choice Co9T. This stuff hits like a ton of bricks, and the extra hot dry down just tones and firms my scalp like no other splash. WONDERFUL on especially cold days or when, as recently, I have a bad cold and I'm looking for a little extra warmth and something to clear the sinuses. I live in a very dry area, and the toning on this splash can sometimes leave my scalp feeling like an over-tightened snare drum. After dry down is complete, I sometimes use a little Nivea moisturizing gel just to help loosen that over-tight feeling. It isn't every time I use it. Just when I use it for several days in a row, or when I am experiencing an extra-dry day.
