Not at all man. All the fun, none of the consequences. =p

The AS-D2 is a great razor. Obviously from a workmanship perspective, etc. but performance as well. You can cruise around your face willy nilly and it takes actual work to get a nick it seems. So much so, I call it my "hangover razor." You can shave with one eye closed and wobbly and still get good results. It's also very forgiving of blades, even the notoriously finicky Feathers. Not a real surprise, both being made by Feather and all... But seriously, any blade works great. There's just not enough exposure or gap to expose the flaws.

But yes, it's mild - quite mild. I've taken to shimming mine with an old blade (center; cut off the sharp outer edges) and it transformed the razor. Still mild, but just a touch more efficient. I suggest those with an AS-D2 try it, at least once. You can easily obtain the mythical BBS.

I've almost tried them all and I have lots and lots of razors. But, I have to say personally that the Feather AS-D2 is my favorite. IF I had to do with one razor, the Feather is it. It is so forgiving, so smooth and others say so mild? I find it extremely efficient and I haven't found a blade yet that doesn't work in this razor. Long ago I said my favorite is the Treet Black Beauty in this razor and It still is! One and done as the blade is sharp enough and cheap enough and the plain carbon steel blades work great for me! Some days are better than others. Much like everything in life. But, I can't get a closer shave with any other razor with so little razor burn and comfort! Gillette figured it out and Feather put their best in stainless steel! I say shame on Gillette!!!
