I prefer the forums, for pretty much the same reasons as everyone already mentioned. Facebook group feeds tend to be 90% shave of the day posts, which I'm not usually very interested in. I also don't use my personal feed in facebook anymore. I have links that connect directly to the group pages when I want to see what's been going on, but for the most part I stay off of Facebook.

My three biggest concerns were 1)foul language; couldn’t get through a thread without several F-bombs And homey don’t play well with that. 2) unchecked negativity, I noticed a huge tendency to troll or bag on a maker or a vendor. I’m guessing they thought it helpful but I found it brash and distasteful. And 3) there was no archive/search ability so info that I find useful on DFS was unusable there. That is my experience on Facebook.Lol, homie #SMH
Why is it so easy for ppl to pull the negativity out as opposed to “what I dislike about the vendor and a follow up with what I like about the vendor” No wonder why ppl are shooting ppl in the face. Give the vendors an opportunity to improve. I’m mortified when I receive a new razor and it’s put together without an o-ring protecting the base plate. But I don’t go public, I dial direct.

Personally, I forgot when I used Facebook last time. Don't get me wrong, it is still a convenient and popular platform, but the attention to users is getting worse each year. And I don't even mention numerous leaks of user data and privacy roughhouse. What does Facebook think it is? They will do anything to please advertisers, forgetting about user privacy or freedom of speech. Even TikTok is now at the same line of popularity as Facebook. TikTok's monetizing system is so simple, we have the boom of third-party services, such as https://famoid.com/buy-tiktok-followers/. Soon, Facebook will be forgotten even within its domestic market.

Here is my take on FB Groups.
East Coast Wet Shavers is very well run with great engagement. I don't ever recall bad behavior there.
The Selective Shaver is my group. We don't allow bad behavior, cussing, etc... Great folks, though don't have the kind of discussion that is here. Lot's of great SOTD pics.
There are plenty of other good ones. In general, the benefit to readership from here would be getting different perspectives and seeing cool pics. By and large, you won't find the knowledge level that is on DFS.

I will however admit an occasional fondness for perusing Reddit shaving boards as they are no holds barred and people are more honest and more apt to be called on BS. It is not for the timid, but life is like that. You have to separate wheat from chaff...............if you are capable.

I look over reddit every now and again myself. Wet Shaving is particularly good and has some good news and updates for vendors as well.
