UPDATES:
As of last night the Tonka Bean 7.5 oz pre orders have almost wiped me out of them before the official release. I think I only have 3 left so just a heads up in case anyone has been waiting for the release. I have a feeling they will all be gone before the release date.
The 4.5 oz size will be available by next week. Some vendors will have them as well.
I’ll be making Vanilla Safi next and to be clear as I’ve been asked a few times. I will have a pre - order of the Limited Edition version of the 7.5 oz in the Italian frosted glass jar. The regular 7.5 oz in the normal PETG jar will also be available. The 4.5 oz size will go out to the vendors and on the ETHOS website.
After these two I will begin all the spring and summer scents. Of note for those that missed out on the Watermelon mint I’ll be making that again in this group as I’ve gotten a lot of requests for it.
On a personal level I’ve been moving around from the hotel I first stayed in to a close friends Airbnb for the past 10 days and I’m back in a hotel as she had reserved guests coming but I’m thankful for her kindness and hospitality. I’m back in the hotel for 3 days and then my son arranged 5 weeks at a really nice Airbnb and while I’m there he and I will find me a new apartment that I will call home for the next year at least and maybe for good. I’ll see how that plays out. I know now that I cannot move back in my place for about 8 to 10 months if I wanted to as that’s the estimated time it would take to have it ready for occupancy. The fire wiped me out of every single thing so I’m starting over and have made a decision to simplify my life with less possessions in the new place. Some things I had I cherished but are irreplaceable, because they are no longer produced So would be impossible to try to re-create what I had.
I’m back to work now but only 3 days a week as I will have my hands full trying get the insurance claim completed, looking for a new place to live and then shopping for furniture and things I’ll need to set up my home. I’ll be working hard getting products out that are on the schedule and I may have a new 2nd employee joining us so this would move things along much quicker. Once I’m settled in we will be expanding our operation and capacity to make larger batches of products and new categories of products.
Once again I can’t thank you enough for all the support, kind gestures and encouragement I’ve gotten from the wet shaving community. One example I’d like to share was from a good customer of mine who decided to go over the top with a generous donation to the GoFundme that a friend started and he saw on here but followed the very next day with a huge order of ETHOS products off the website. When I told him that that was over the top and he didn’t have to do that he laughed and said it’s all good and I wanted to help you out my friend. Honestly it kind of embarrassed me as I’m not used to accepting gifts especially if they are over the top so I wasn’t going to not reciprocate so I dug into my personal stash of 2 very exotic Aroma ingredients I have small amounts of and made him a custom EDP using vintage 1934 Mysore Sandalwood and Red Champaca absolute which is one of the top 5 most expensive aromatics in the world. One of my suppliers had sent me a decent sized sample of as I do a lot of business with him. It’s one of the aromatics in my collection I find myself going to at least once a week and opening the bottle and taking a deep whiff of as it’s amazing to my nose and just wish it wasn’t as expensive as it is because I’d love to make a batch of Shaving Soap and post shave products from it but I’m pretty sure you all would be price shocked as when I for fun did the math.
Anyway took a photo and had some fun with it using PhotoRoom with it while lying in bed at the hotel . I sent it to him letting him know it was in his order with the message “ gotcha back “ lol . After making the EDP I wished I had made a little more for myself as I lost all my colognes in the fire and I had some really good ones.
Great shaves all
