Looking forward to your thoughts. My suggestion is to use a favorite brush rather than the "keyboard duster"  Big Grin Just kidding with you of course, use what you want Happy2

I pulled it out and knocked the dust off it and have been using it for the last several shaves and its kinda wearing on me!!

Reviews aren't my strong suit but I did get a shave in this morning and I have to say it was a great shave overall. Along with the Shave MD soap being new to me I also loaded up a new Personna Lab Blue in the Ti Blackbird for the 1st time and other than a small weeper on my ATG pass I'd say it was a very successful 2.5 pass BBS overall...

I really like the soap and it is an awesome scent and can understand why Mark requested it and liked it so much. I'd say both pre-lather and lathered the scent was very noticeable and that's a big plus and part of the reason why I have enjoyed Stirling for years now as my sole artisan soap. The Ethos was very easy to lather and I actually think it was less soap than I normally load with the Stirling. I think I only dunked the tips 1 time and before I knew it it was a very creamy yogurt consistency and ready to shave which caught me by surprise actually!! I think I was hoping for a little more challenge but I'm more than ok with how it worked out. I'm not sure I feel the after shave effects that most have described and besides, I think its a little early for that anyway!! I'd have to say it was very similar to my normal lather I get from Stirling, but I think I will need some extensive lather time for a couple weeks to make a real determination overall. I'm thinking it will be very fun learning with this soap... Kinda bummed I only shave every other day at this point!!

Last but not least I did have the time to reminisce about some of the times Mark and I had talked and messaged at times and a few transactions we made prior to him passing. I was very lucky to call him a shave buddy and do miss his participation on the forums!!

muzichead i would be shocked if you didn’t say you need about half as much product as stirling to get the same lather volume.  The post shave will become more evident as you use it a few times, nourishing but not oily.

Enjoy, Ethos is all I use anymore.

As I said, it was less but I wouldn't say 50% less though. I don't do any counting while loading so its tough to say really as I normally just look at the tips of the brush and when I think there is enough lather on it I then move to my face to build the lather. I think I was enjoying the scent while loading and before I knew it I realized there was what I thought was enough lather loaded. I would say the difference between the two were very similar in how they lathered, but as I also said I look forward to more time with the Ethos soap. As far as my skin it is on the oily side mostly so I am hoping its not too nourishing for me, if that makes any sense...

When I use Frank's soaps, sometimes that post-shave skin goodness takes me a few hours before I feel the full affect.  Another thing I do is I don't rinse my face completely squeaky clean after my shave.  Instead of my usual final rinse, I use my hands to wipe off any excess water and then treat what moisture is left like an aftershave.  I've been doing this for a few years and I've noticed an improvement in the way my skin feels.

Thank you for the feedback and I totally get it. It’s your first time using it so it might take a few times to feel the post shave as there’s a lot of different skin beneficial ingredients that address the Dermis layer of the skin not just the epidermis layer.

You bring up Mark and as you probably know he and I were very good friends and he was a rock solid good person. He was also a helpful member of the wet shaving community and as you mentioned. He loved that scent but only got to use it once before his passing as he was saving it for his summer scent. We were both happy about that because his asthma which was not good most of his life got much worse after he got Covid so he could only tolerate Unscented, Lavender and then this one he affectionately called “ Ginger Ale “ and it’s sad he only used it once. He passed way to young!

Just so you know Mark also had very oily skin and that was one of the reasons he used only ETHOS as he said it didn’t leave any oily residue on his skin but he noticed his skin got better over time. So I don’t think you’ll have any problems in that area. I remember when you used to use the Timeless razor. You still have it? The BB Ti is a good shaving razor. I finally got one after a shaving buddy let me try one of his and I really liked it compared to the SS version. An Im with you as I usually go two days between shaves unless I have to go out somewhere special but I haven’t had much of a social life lately as I’ve been pretty much working 6-7 days a week between my two jobs.

I’m glad you joined the family and if you ever want to have a chat just message me.

Best regards!

Frank

Hello my friend

Yes exactly. There are skin beneficial ingredients that almost act like they are “ Time released “ in the F Base. The soap rinses clean which was something I worked on when I first started making shave soap as I never enjoyed using soaps that left a film or waxy/oily residue on my skin. So spot on in your definition of the post shave. The good ingredients are doing their job in addressing the Dermis layer and not just lying on the surface of the skin. An there’s plenty of oils and butters in there to address the epidermal layer without leaving any oily / waxy feeling on the skin. I’ll have to try your technique of rinsing but not 100% to see how that works out for me. Always like to hear feedback and tips from members. So thank you!

All the best

Frank

While I’m on here just letting everyone know that all the new Dragonsbeard Labels arrived today and the Shave Soaps are all made. Just got to do the Skin Food Splash and Lotion and the Revitalizing Serum which won’t take long as the Unscented basis are all done.

I’ll be sending out links to those that are on the list for the 7.5 oz size in the Black Glass jar very very soon.

The 4.5 oz sizes along with some of the other scents that were released in only the 7.5 oz size will be heading out to the vendors very soon as they were waiting for Dragonsbeard.

Oh a little info… I didn’t  like the look of the 4.5 oz jar fill when I started to fill the jars as the black plastic jars are deeper than my normal 4.5 oz jars so I added an extra oz in each jar as it looks much better. So really 5.5 oz even though the label says 4.5 oz.

Great shaves all

I'm the one with very sensitive skin, especially the shaved area. So I tried so many products including astrigents(toner aka splash), balm, serum and cream(similar to balm).

I live in Korea. My country is famous for skin care and makeup products so I hadn't had a plan to purchase ones from other countries because I thought Korean products were superior. But I found that I got only just a few positive results from the products I had bought, not satisfying.

However, ETHOS broke the bias and now I think the skin food splash is the best in the world.

It would sound excessive but let me telly you. As soon as I apply the splash from ETHOS on the shaved area, it immediately soothes the area and gives it smooth feeling. Accordingly, I also can feel it is fully moisturised. No products from other brands have given this perfect feeling so far at all.

As time goes by, my skin started to be clean and a lot of acne caused by shaving has disappeared using the splash.

I'm sure you will have that same experience, too.

I'm the person who thinks that most companies advertise their products with fancy, overstating words which I have to filter but based on my experience, what Frank mentioned and explained on the website is all true.
