Thank you for the feedback and encouraging words. That was the first F Base Shave soap where I used the 3 new ingredients that I’ll be using in the F Base soaps.
All the best!

Frank,
I am excited to hear the formulation will be incorporated in future releases. Also, there may need to be a new economic analysis for this version as well. I recall you mentioned someone did an accounting of the cost per shave with one of your past releases. In my initial experiences, this formulation reduces the amount of starting material required. Albeit I am still primarily bowl lathering, so it might be different loading off the puck. The first shave with Sandalo I started with my normal amount of soap. I tend to use a bit more given the consistency of lather I am after. The produced lather was meaningfully more than past versions. So for the second shave I reduced the starting material by roughly a 1/3. And the third shave I reduced the starting material yet again, and still had more than enough for a 3 pass. I realize there are differing price sensitivities across shavers. But on a cost per shave basis, I have to believe this base is at parity, or lower, versus other mid to premium tier offerings.
I want to get more shaves in with this base and then plan to do a detailed writeup on the Sandalo and new base to share here and another, ahem, forum
I am the person who should have done repost of economical calculations of ethos soaps comparing with other artisans.
I have strange habit to note each usage of my soaps. Having 7 years experience in wetshaving, I have quite a big database about different soaps and artisans.
Usually, people focus on initial cost of shaving soap (or other product) and evaluate that as cheap or expensive. But to be correct we should calculate the cost of soap per usage, which is mathematically ratio of numbers of usage to the price of product.
So here is my list of usages some of my soaps and their price.
1. EThos lavender 7.5 oz- 48 USD
2.Ethos Vanilla saffi- 150 USD
3.Ethos F base Sandalo 4 oz -42 USD
3. Grooming Dept 4 oz- 27 USD
4.Sebum Gold 8oz- 70 USD
5. CBL Orion 4 oz-38 USD
This soap gave me several usages and hence calculation price per usage
1. EThos lavender 7.5 oz- 167 usages - 0.28 $/per usage
2.Ethos Vanilla saffi- 160 usages- 0.93 $/per usage
3.Ethos F base Sandalo 4 oz - 80 usages -0.53 $/per usage
3. Grooming Dept 4 oz- 52 usages -0.52 $/per usage
4.Sebum Gold 8oz- 51 usages - 1.37 $/per usage
5. CBL Orion 4 oz-35 usages -1.09 $/per usage
So focusing on ETHOS prices we come to conclusion that the price which seems to be high at first glance , at the end become the cheapest product . In addition of the natural and real essential oils using there.
Happy shaves, guys!!!

womp womp. Bergamotto splash is now out of stock. I should have completed my order this morning instead of putting it off until now.
Dragonsbeard Frank, any chance you will be restocking the Bergamotto splash?

Thank you for posting this information. I give you and others like you a thumbs up for documenting your shaves and figuring out the cost per shave. I’d never have the patience to do that. An I’m happy that I’m not the most expensive. I price my products based on what’s in them.
Best regards and great shaves!
I'm going to throw my support behind Tonka Bean as the first soap to reissue. Although Dragonsbeard might be my favorite scent so this is a close second. I can see using either one year round. Vanilla Safi is a more cool weather scent for me and I generally don't want to smell like vanilla in the heat of summer, although I love vanilla ice cream.
