As impatient as I am 3 is the best compromise of satisfying the thriftiness of your average customer, and your vision of an all around premium product.

In the grand scheme of things a 2 month wait is not Substantial for R&D, and production for the immediate future of your packaging. I’m currently using my Khalifa soap out of Tupperware because the jars Peter released were not sufficiently researched and they all break. I don’t care because the soap is great.

It’s your vision and product so if you’re not satisfied releasing a substandard product now that is your right. Perhaps a limited release, on a request basis, with the PET jars would be a fair way to give some of us an option? Most are of the “function only” camp, but I plan to hold out for the new jar to present on display if that is your choice.

I could not recommend option 2 for a standard production soap.

Enjoy NYC ! Perfect time of year to visit down here.

Some good points sir and seeing it’s a Sunday there’s not to much action on here so it will be interesting to see more responses to the 3 options.  I agree on the Black Violet Jars being one of the options in the Personal Blends area if someone wants a super premium jar and I can see that for a soap made with a very special aroma blend.

BTW Thanks, I’m looking forward to seeing my son and having a few days in the City. I’ll probably come back a few pounds heavier lol

So below is a photo of the Original V1 Dragonsbeard Shave Soap and Skin Food Splash. I’ve kept these since new unopened. This is the Black PET jar. Fairly Durable and the only problem with them is they can distort under high Temperatures so pouring the soap to hot can warp then as we found out in the very first run on V1.

The number 3 option custom Black PETG jars would not have any issues that the PET as far as warping or a Styrene plastic jar would as they crack easily. PETG plastic is very strong and the Crystalline PETG version which I and MDC use is even more sturdy and as close to glass as can be.

So here’s a photo of the PET jar we’ve used in V1 and V2

Also as a side note. Notice how much darker the Skin Food Splash is. One of the characteristics of both Authentic Oud/Agarwood oil and Sandalwood is they get better with age. That bottle when opened smells awesome and I highly recommend letting them age for a while after getting them.

Anyway tell me what you all think.

I do like nice looking containers but at the end of the day they are just that. I would rather not pay extra for a more fancy container but at the end of the day, this is your vision.

I don’t even need a jar.
Can you just find a ziplock bag?

Was the iced Dragonsbeard ever released? Hope I didn't miss that one.

As far as containers go I usually scoop and bowl lather anyway and the soaps stay in a dark cabinet so for me whatever is less expensive

I don’t really have an issue with the current Dragonsbeard jars, but I know you are not the biggest fan of them Frank. Since you have mixed feedback of the three different options, you could do 50 jars in the jars of your preferred choice for a special release, and the rest of the run in the original jars. Customers who want the nicer looking jar would obviously know that they are paying more, and customers who don’t want to spend more on the jar still have their preferred option. I don’t know if that is feasible, or possibly do a limited release like the Vanilla Safi with the custom bowls. Those bowls were pretty sweet with the custom lid too. I am excited for this new release either way.

Side note: I wonder how two extra months of curing would affect the soap?
