Maybe customer can chime in but your only going to get their favorites which may vary from person to person I’d imagine.
Don't listen to Frank... Greenfresh is the best scent, and it's a scientific fact*.  I suspect it will win all of the awards this year (even though they don't currently exist).

Absolutely take a look at the site, Frank has some amazing stuff and just keeps coming out with ideas to blow our minds.

Dragonsbeard +1 for a new jar loading base!
Quite honestly, while I love your soaps, I find I use them a bit less than some others because you need to take the extra time to bowl lather them….as opposed to face lathering right out of the jar. As long as quality is not sacrificed I’d be all in..

Thanks for the input and I know what your saying as I also either don’t have the time to bowl lather or I just don’t fell like it plain and simple although when I have the time and I’m in the mood I like to whip up a nice big bowl of lather and take my time with my shave so I’m all over the boards. One thing that I’ve learned from a friend of mine that honestly does work is to scoop out some soap and with my hands rub if all over my face and begin face lathering which does work well.

Anyway here’s my plan.
1. I’m going to make 2 of the scents in the harder soaps that I’m low on like the Succes and Lavender Supreme and two brand new scents.
2. In the current base I’ve been playing and I’ve figured out a way of making it a bit harder without loosing its shaving Characteristics which a lot of my customers really enjoy. So a couple new scents in that base.
3. Make the Vegan shave cream and use that base when dealing with delicate top note essential oils like citrus for example that tend to loose their strength when subjected to high heat because with a shaving cream I can put them in at just about room temperature ( well not winter in the warehouse temperatures lol ) but much lower so they don’t burn off. Melange Di Agrume was a perfect example of that happening. The scent strength was so weak after making it I had to include a bottle of the full strength aroma blend with each jar so people could add a drop or two and enjoy the blend scent at a decent level. So that’s a perfect aroma for the shave cream for example.

So my objective is to offer bases that appeal to wet shavers that prefer different types of bases.

I’m even working on a very special base for people with ultra sensitive skin that will be one soap. Meaning it’s only going to be available in it natural scent base which is created by the oils & butters that are in the soap.

BTW I’ve used the new hard base and it’s got the strangest post shave characteristics that I’ve ever encountered in a shave soap. Rinses clean so you don’t feel any residue on the face and then the post shave benefits start to kick in an within the first hour after use and then continue to build. Almost like it’s time - released. I mean when I get to the let’s say 2 to 3 hour after the shave my skin feels baby soft but still no heavy oily residue. The only thing I can think of that may be doing that I added more Hyaluronic acid to the formula than what’s in the EOS Complex.

I’m not sure how many people have used Hyaluronic acid but initially after using it your skin gets plumped up and it can almost be described as feeling tight! Then slowly you begin to feel the deep hydration it brings to the skin and it gets softer and softer. In regards to ETHOS products it’s very noticeable especially if I add a higher percentage of it into the EOS Complex.  So right now that’s the only thing that makes scientific sense to me regarding the post shave the hard soap provides.

Anyway that’s the plan.

Dragonsbeard I know exactly what you mean. As you know, I always mix your Hyaluronic acid product with your Splash to create a super-charged very light balm which also decreases the alcohol “burn.” And you’re correct…the face feel softness and soothing does increase in intensity for a few hours afterwards and is great all day. In fact, the mixing in of your Hyaluronic acid product with any splash increases it’s effectiveness.

Vis-a-vis your revised current base modifications…if you harden it would you still recommend you don’t lather out of the jar because of your curing technique? In my view, if you harden it BUT still need to bowl lather not much has changed and you might as well leave the current version alone…as a softer soap is easier to scoop, bowl lather or apply right to your face. And concentrate your efforts on the new, hard base.

Love the idea of a very special base for people with ultra sensitive skin. Hopefully, there’d be a complementary, ultra sensitive skin non-alcohol AS splash or light balm to go with it.

So in regards to the existing base I can see your point and it would be a concern but here’s the thing. If you had all the soaps in front of you and you felt each one of them you’d notice that the  Clean Unscented shave soap is the hardest/firmest of them all. It can be lathered in the jar just without lots of pressure and I always recommend to turn the jar completely upside down to keep a lot of water from getting in the soap. With that said, my target for making the existing base harder is to make it a little bit harder than the Clean but not by much which will enable people to either load from the jar or scoop some out whatever their choice.  With the hard soap you pretty much can put as much pressure on the soap as you want.

I’m thinking with 3 different soap bases and one cream I can see why some soap makers name their bases. I haven’t done that yet as I only have had one. Maybe I could just use simple terms like hard, medium or soft. Just kidding of course.

Yes a non alcohol Skin Food lotion and serum would go along with the Sensitive skin shave soap

Speaking of Non Alcohol Skin Food lotion right now I’m sitting on 3 different formulas so I’m going to post up for at least 5 or 6 testers and I’ll send them labeled A, B and C so it’s a blind test. All 3 will have the Greenfresh scent.

Again thanks for the input

Wow great photo Eric! That razor is a real beauty! Max Sprecher makes amazing ST8’s! Once of these days I have to dive in. I really like the shape and color of that razor handle. Glad you like the Greenfresh.

I am willing to throw down on a harder puck of Lavender Supreme. When DanLaw sent the pasaround, I like the Melange Grapefruit but preferred it the least. Second preference was Success but most enjoy was the Lavender. I thought it was great and would be a first purchase but I went with Dragonsbeard first and am happy. I am not surprised Frank is making an attempt as something different and again, a harder consistency to load off of. I would assume it will be a good formula and look forward to reporting back sometime in the future after it becomes available. Nice posts above Dragonsbeard,I always seem to find out something now from them.
