Has anyone ever tried this soap comments please

The old version I have heard is pretty good, however the new Erasmic stick is total crap. Couldn't get a stable lather to save my life, certainly not something I would recommend shaving with.

I have a few of the old ones (tallow). It is my understanding that the reformulation, without tallow, was so roundly panned that Erasmic went back to tallow. I do not know if that is true or not though.

Having said that, I don't like shave sticks and don't use them. Some love them, especially for travel, and I can certainly understand the convenience factor.

The only time I tried it - it was like trying to lather a large hunk of sidewalk chalk.

Straight into the trash can.

Has been a few years back. I have not heard anyone say that it's better recently.

I am always happy to try it again in the future if it is reformulated. I hadn't heard that though.

I have an erasmic stick, I think, that I haven't used in years. I'm not too sure if it's the tallow version or not. maybe I'll bust it out tonight and rub the stick in my palm for a test lather to see how it goes.

the top sticks seem to be arko or palmolive.

Andrew, if you still have the box then sodium tallowate should be the first ingredient listed, if it is the old version.

I doubt I have the box, but I'll check.

that said, I rubbed the stick in the palm of my hand for about 15 seconds then lathered it with my synthetic brush. not too bad:

Andrew, that's not Erasmic. That's Boots shaving stick, an entirely different soap.

As for sticks, Palmolive is great. La Toja and Wilkinson, for me, are as good as Palmolive and equally inexpensive.

And Freddy is right, Erasmic had a tallow formula. They switched to a veggie formulation that generated so many complaints that they went back to the old tallow formulation (this was around 2011). Not a bad soap, but there are better sticks out-there, IMHO.
