As for sticks, Palmolive is great. La Toja and Wilkinson, for me, are as good as Palmolive and equally inexpensive.
And Freddy is right, Erasmic had a tallow formula. They switched to a veggie formulation that generated so many complaints that they went back to the old tallow formulation (this was around 2011). Not a bad soap, but there are better sticks out-there, IMHO.
Just to add, both Erasmic and Palmolive sticks are incredibly inexpensive in the U.K. In Scotland, I have paid as little as 45p (US 59¢) in small out of the way pharmacies. Even a major player like Boots does not charge outlandishly for these.
As for Boots's house brand of shaving cream or stick, I would not recommend them because there is better out there. Palmolive (in both shave cream and stick form) comes to mind. Far superior and considerably less expensive, even at a Boots Pharmacy.
