Tony, as far as synthetics go, quality comes in all price ranges so it seems to me that it comes down to what you are looking for in a brush. Loft? Density of fibers? Knot size? Style? Any of these, or combination of them, should take precedence over price.
I have three synthetics, all with various characteristics, the most expensive being $33.00, and I enjoy every one of them. No matter what you may ultimately choose, have fun in the journey.
