I have 2 duke 3 manchurians and 4 ch2 synthetics. I am getting my first wolf whiskers/envy white soon so that could be a brand new multiple brush.

I like to give brushes ample time to dry between uses so I don't see a problem having multiples if it is what you like.

Since badger hair is natural hair and even within same batch year will vary quite a bit, getting two identical feeling brushes is like buying two Grand Danois dogs and expect they behave identically.

But I get the point. You can get two brushes somewhat close in feel to each other, you can also get two Duke 3 Manchurian and one is soft, while the other is scratchy among the same badger batch.
I know. I have been there.

I agree. In reply #10 I indicated badger hair brushes which are the same dimensions have different characteristics. I can't speak for boars hair as I have never used one. I do believe synthetic brushes which are man made should all be the same.

I have a few "duplicates" among my Rooney Finests, but as has been mentioned before, the hair and knot characteristics differ enough to make each of them unique.

Thanks for all the responses. In the end I decided upon a Simpson 58 Manchurian in tortoise. Similar to my Duke 3 Manchurian but different enough to justify the purchase.
