Multipe jars of Chatillon Lux Pre Shave Butter. I use it everyday but I still count it. My bottle of Vide Poche is a shave or two from being finished as well.

So if that jar contained 113 grams of soap, that’s a whopping 7.5 gram load per shave. Very impressive!  Happy

This soap is unique in my hands, Matt, and strangely enough, as I wrote in the B&M thread, I wasn't left with a huge quantity of unused lather after each three pass shave.

Now, let's see if I can get fourteen shaves from Arctique #2! Big Grin

I remember seeing those posts. I’m sure the menthol has a lot to do with it. But still…

There’s a worthy goal, though — fourteen shaves from a regular-size tub! You can do it! Happy2

This is a tube of Geo F. Trumpers Rose, suited for sensitive skin.

It has a reasonably strong Rose fragrance. Upon lathering, the lather is a light pink color, which can be disconcerting. The tips of a brush turn a light pink. However, that condition is temporary as the brush dries it dries its normal color. Lathering is trivial.  For this cream I always bowl lathered. You barely look at Trumpers Cream and the lather explodes. The lather was always rich and luxurious. All its technical attributes are excellent but residual slickness could be better. In terms of scent, I believe T&H Rose is on par but slightly different. I have not come across any Rose soap, including LPL, I find as better Rose scent. It’s not a perfume type scent, although the concept of using Rose was a bit strange to me.  Overall, I consider GFT Rose to be “very good”, a third tier product behind those I consider Elite and First Class products. This is still excellent company and well within the upper half of my normal curve of products I would use and I would buy this product again. Here is the final product.

I got 36 uses, resulting in a cost of around 41 cents/shave. and, IMO expensive when bought as a tube. I also know the recommendation is to use a tiny bit to create lather but I tend to make far too much. However, the 200g tub can be found for under $18 reducing the price to about 17 cents/shave. A tube might be suitable for traveling but for home use, obviously buying a tub is huge savings.

I don’t know how the Rose works as a hard soap from the tub, but I have read and seen numerous accounts of the Eucris hard soap being absolutely miserable when it comes to lathering — as in, almost impossible to lather. No experience myself, just reporting what I’ve seen. It would seem that when it comes to Trumper’s products, the creams are “where it’s at”.

I think he was referring to a tub of the SC - not the soap.

I actually have the GFT Rose soap (in a bowl) and it lathers very well indeed. No problems at all. I don't think I've ever tried their Eucris.
