do you wash your face with soap and water after shaving or just wet your face and wipe it down with a wash cloth?

Typically just a warm water rinse, often, but not always followed by post shave products.

Funny you should ask this; been out of Grooming Dept soap for some time now and relying on Wholly Kaw Donkey Milk. To help boost its performance post shave began post shave face washing by hand using phisoDerm and cold water. Results nearly identical to Grooming Dept if WKDM followed by cold water face wash and normal routine of Witch Hazel, AS splash and ABC balm.

Only question remaining is would following this procedure with GD soap make it even better. Will trial and report if/when any GD soap arrives

I shave after I shower so I don't feel like I need soap/water. But after shaving I always apply witch hazel. I do this primarily for the cleansing ability of WH as it definitely helps keep the tallow-based "white heads" away. So, for me, I feel the WH serves the same purpose as soap/water and there are times I will wash my face before bed with WH instead of soap/water.

I rinse with warm water then wipe down with a witch hazel-soaked cotton round, then rinse with cool water.

I use a combo of wet wash cloth and cupped hands with water until I can feel that all soap is gone.

I shower before shaving and wash my face with soap in the shower. I then shave using a soap, or a cream which is essentially soap with more water in it. Therefore to wash my face a third time just seems to be overkill to me.
