shewt, for $17, it's certainly worth a look. if the knot was 52mm or below, I'd buy one.

I have several synthetic brushes from companies like Omega, Plisson, Kent  and Whipped Dog. My favorite is my Whipped Dog 30mm Synthetic. If you have not yet tried their brushes, you are in for a treat. They are understated but beautifully made and are an excellent bargain. This brush out perfoms all of my brushes except for my Simpsons Chubby 2 in Best Badger (I have about 25 brushes in all). Nice soft feel with just the right amount of back bone.

It used to be the Plisson and still is in many ways, but my top of the list synthetic now is my Custom Nathan Clark Ubersoft 24mm knot.
However it will be challenged by a Wolfwhisker very soon.

It was my Plisson till I bought my Edwin Jagger 287 25mm. That is a beast. Whips up lathers real easy, soft on the face. Nice bit of back bone. One I certainly will never trade. I am curious though about the Fine Angel Hair brush that's just been released. For around £20 it may well be worth a punt.

When I started this thread, I never dreamed there was such a variety out there, and the choices just keep growing.

I continue to enjoy all of my brushes, boar, badger, horsehair, blends, and my synthetic. However, if i could have only one, it just might be my synthetic. Just a couple of years ago I never would have said that.

Then, I started hearing how much better they had become and after seeing some positive reviews about the Plisson Pour L'Occitane Synthetic, I decided to take a chance again.  It was love at first use.  It makes incredible lather and is extremely gentle on my face.  Add to that the fact that synthetic brushes dry really quickly and I knew I had a winner on my hands.

Does anyone else have a particular synthetic brush that is enjoyed as much or more as any badger, boar, horsehair, or blend that might be in your shave den?  Here is my L'Occitane:

The Plisson, by far, is my favorite. The Muhle HJM is a runner up. The Omega S brush is okay but way below the Plisson for me. The Grooming Company's synthetic is just too small.

Crazy how far they've come. It's not just about price either. The performance of all these brushes is what fuels the conversation and gives them true merits over natural hair brushes. Yes, I'll probably pony up for a custom Shavemac one of these days just for the sake of experience and enjoyment, but a synthetic is what I'd want on a desert island.

Freddy, I echo what you wrote here in the last paragraph. I NEVER thought that I would even consider that, in fact I ridiculed the idea of synthetic brushes. But that was then and today is now. Todays synthetics are as good or better than natural IMO and not the same, different.
