I'm running out of space in my little cabinet, this made me wonder if brushes deform if they are packed tightly together or against a wall for a long time?

I'm particularly concerned for the higher end badgers, few but I worked hard for them, but I wouldn't want my boars and synthetics to lose their forms as well. Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. ?

They may deform a bit, but I would liken it to waking up with bead head. A nice shower and shampoo (shave) will get it looking nice again. May put a slight damper on your SoTD photos though

I don't know about badgers but synthetics sure do. I have had two synthetics that I received with flat sides due to shipping. I was able to get one back to shape after a couple weeks or so, and the other looks pretty good but not as good, but I think that's just that particular knot.

I had a boar brush where the knot started to take on the same shape as the square box it came in due to not being taken out of the box much at all, if ever. I imagine it would bounce back after being used a few times...

It will deform, but can come back to its old shape after a while.

But it's best not to have them squeezed too tight in the cabinet in my opinion.

Get the tubes.

Make sure the brushes are dry though.

I think I bought mine from shave revolution. Unmarked ones.

They will keep the knots round and tight. Not all brushes fit.

You can use any tube really. There's one from the hardware store someone posted the other day.

One use and my brushes bounce right into shape. Before storage I leave them dry three or four days and pop them back into a tube while I rotate.

A good, and small investment to make.

I don't see them anymore on Shave Revolution.

Look here.

Different size tubes. I like the clear ones so I can tell which is which.

The worst brush deformities I have ever seen are the vintage ones. The old practice of just leaving the wet brush in the mug (bristle down) as it dries over night does the worst damage. I am not so much a bush geek as I am a soap geek, but packing them tightly together when they are dry shouldnt deform them.

This is great. Drats, I missed it. Thank you for the suggestion! Better safe than sorry!

+1 The best way to resolve this is to use them all! Big Grin
