DFS Talbot Shaving Soap Pass Around

The soap just arrived today and it looks like there will be plenty.  I’ll scoop out some for a couple of shaves over the next few days, but I’m not going to use a quarter of what’s there, let alone more than a quarter!

I used the Talbot a few times and enjoyed the experience. The scent has a "green grass" feel to it, with a touch of some other herbal notes. Scent was noticeable from the puck and on the face but not overwhelming or long-lasting. Performance is quite good and seems to perform well on a gram/shave basis. From my limited experience with the soap, I'd say it performs on par with WK, DG, etc. I found the post-shave to be a little less noticeable than some of the other top-tier soaps that I use, but that was nice for a humid August week in Minnesota.

All in all, this is one of the better soaps that I've tried, at least from a sample basis. I would definitely pick up a puck of this one if the opportunity presents itself.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to try this sample of Talbot. It performs on elite levels and I would concur with many of the previous reviews.

I just sent the Talbots to the last and final participant jaro. ETA is Tuesday 9/3.
It was my first time using this artisan and I did enjoy it quite a bit. The scent strength is mild out of the tub but once the the lather is whipped it starts releasing some mossy, freshly mowed lawn scents. There is a mild cooling agent but isn’t dominant in the overall performance. The cushion and slickness was great. And so was the post shave feel. I’d really like to try some others by Talbots. Hope I can catch some before they sell out. Big Thanks to Andrew for making this possible. Cheers

hello all wll i got the soap but didnt get to use it until today i used the silver tip fro my friend bentheduck and the double wall shave bowl i won the other day in a PIF when i first put the brush to it there didnt seem like a lot of lather but then when i put brush to face i looked like i had just gotten santas beard !!  i used the enders with proline blade and it was a little rough so i switched to the kai captain and it just mowed through a 2 day growth then just to see i relathered and used the bevel head with the rockwell 6 handle and it finished it very nicely. The scent was nice and i  felt No tightness after i was through i used a witch hazel splash followed by plain alcohol and there was not much sting... overall this is a nice product and i would recommend it to anyone.......

Well used it again with the same great results. I tried different razors on different spots to see how it worked with various types of razors and it did great with them all.. I tried a Schick dial and a g type the Kai captain and a kamisori the enders and Rockwell and the bevel and a straight razor and all did wonderful so it appears that this soap works great with fairly much whatever type of razor you throw at it.... I highly recommend it....
